Discover your #H2OpportunityJob DescriptionAECOM is seeking a field-based Construction Infrastructure Engineer to support field projects from our Virginia Beach, VA office. This particular position will support the delivery of a long-term capital improvement program located in the Hampton Roads area. The successful candidate will have some experience/high degree of interest in one or more of the following areas: water or sanitary sewer conveyance, water/wastewater treatment, and water reuse areas. The successful candidate will work in a team environment and will be responsible for performing specific tasks and discrete portions of broader Program assignments while receiving supervision, guidance and mentoring from experienced engineers.Imagine working on rewarding projects within a diverse culture and having access to exceptional training and career development opportunities. Assisting with reviewing plans and schedules; conducting or coordinating reviews for complex projects that the program management team is responsible for.

Working collaboratively in a team environment to resolve complex problems.

Performing engineering modeling, design, and graphics support work for engineers and project managers.

Reviewing cost estimates, job budgets and schedules.

Supporting preparation of final plans, reports and calculations and submits them for client approval.

Conducting engineering investigations and planning work.

Coordinating work with other engineers and multi-discipline professionals.

Maintaining project information, author reports and other necessary correspondence for the project files.

Troubleshooting project related problems and provides engineering support.

Assisting with plans, schedules for the development of bridging documents.

Conducting or coordinating construction services on projects of moderate scope.

Assisting in the management of projects tasks.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Construction Engineering, with an emphasis on any aspect of wastewater facility construction.

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification

2 years of relevant water infrastructure related experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position including software such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, hydrologic/hydraulic models.

Valid U.S. Driver’s License and must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in Civil or Construction Engineering

Prior field construction experience at water/wastewater treatment plants strongly preferred.

The ability and willingness to work in a team-oriented and inclusive Program Management Organization culture.

Positive attitude, good aptitude, and strong initiative will integrate well with our existing group of outstanding professionals.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient with MS Office Suite – specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
