Description We are providing an opportunity for a Customer Service Representative role in the local government sector located in Richmond, Virginia. The successful candidate will become a fundamental part of our team, ensuring the smooth operation of our customer service function. This position involves interacting directly with residents, businesses, and visitors, addressing their inquiries and concerns, and providing information about government services, programs, and policies. Responsibilities: Assist in providing excellent customer service to residents, businesses, and visitors through various communication channels, such as phone, email, and in-person interactions. Respond to inquiries, concerns, and requests related to government services, programs, and policies. Collaborate with various departments to obtain accurate information and timely responses to customer inquiries. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local government services and initiatives. Employ strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion. Utilize proficiency in basic computer applications and show a willingness to learn new systems. Engage in data entry tasks as required. Direct visitors and handle customer service tasks as needed. This role is a contract employment opportunity. Requirements Proficiency in Customer Service is essential Ability to Direct Guests effectively and courteously Skilled in Data Entry with attention to accuracy and speed Experience in a local government setting is advantageous Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to handle complaints and difficult situations Patience and empathy in dealing with customers' needs Proficiency in using computer software including Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work in a team and foster a positive work environment Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically High school diploma or equivalent; higher education degree is a plus.
