  • The work will be 50%-75% remote with expected travel to sites in VA and NC.
  • Periodic onsite meetings in Richmond, VA is also expected.

  • Per diem will apply on days or weeks traveled and paid at $100 a day. Per Diem only applies when working over 50 miles from permanent residence.

Job Summary:The Project Engineer is the technical coordinator of all engineering tasks for the project, theengineering subject matter expert (SME) supporting RFP and Bid Reviews; and assisting theProject Manager with coordinating related project tasks.The Project Engineer is experienced with major power plants and controls systems includingbut not limited to: Industrial Controls Systems, SCADA Control Systems, Control SystemNetworks, Computer and Network Hardware, Software, and Configurations, applied to utilityand power generation environments.

Responsibilities:· Ensure all projects are executed with Safety and Environmental Compliance as the primary focus of all personnel supporting the projects.· Work with Project Manager to understand project scopes and help develop writtenscopes of work.· Interface with PG Engineering, PG Regulatory Compliance, PG Station Management, and other departments, as needed, to help implement the projects.· Develop engineering specifications for RFP and review/revise specifications and guidance as needed.· Assist the Project Manager with developing and reviewing a Bid Review Matrix. Provide guidance and knowledge to assist with the determination of the successful bidder.· Manage the Request for Information (RFI) process on behalf of Project Manager.· Coordinate engineering questions, responses, and information submitted by the Owner Engineer (OE), successful bidder (EPC) and/or PG Engineering (internal).· Coordinate engineering reviews with appropriate counterparts in PG Engineering.· Work with Project Manager to ensure engineering deliverables are completed and accepted.· Review work in the field with compliance to engineering specifications, best practices, and standards as agreed upon by management.· Provide knowledge and troubleshooting assistance during the startup andcommissioning of the projects.· Assist the Project Manager with other tasks as directed.· Follow processes and procedures for document control and compliance.· Coordinates reviews of data, drawings, diagrams, documents required for compliance, and change requests for completeness and accuracy and provide comments.· The Project Engineer reviews and tracks submittals and comments to projectinformation including, data, drawings, diagrams, final documents required forcompliance, change requests, and coordinates related tasks.· Ensures all review comments get incorporated into the final documentation.· Coordinates, schedules, and supports project technical update meetings.· Develops workflow diagrams and assembles tracking matrixes for document reviews.· Understands project requirements and develops list(s) of tasks/steps to meet each requirement.· Leads discussions and efforts to resolve technical issues with the project’s technical team.· Assists with coordinating on site visits for technical team.· Develops technical scopes of work and specifications for ordering hardware and software.· Writes technical documents to be used for final documentation required by compliance for satisfying specific cyber security best practices.· Assists Project Manager with evaluating technical resources needed to keep project schedule on track.· Communicates effectively with Supplier/Vendor resources providing guidance and assistance,· Assists the project technical team with maintaining appropriate levels of documentation required as part of each project.

Qualifications/Experience:· Demonstrates knowledge and experience in project engineering, relevant technologies,and leadership in the assigned project areas.· Experience with Cyber Security best practices and NERC CIP Medium requirements.· Experience with Industrial Control System (ICS) and/or SCADA control systems· Experience with Electrical, Instrumentation, & Controls (EI&C)· Experience with Information Technology (IT) and/or Operation Technology (OT) and respective networks.· Experience leading teams of engineering and/or technical resources.· Demonstrates skill in planning, organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work to meet deadlines.· Demonstrates capability in handling multiple distinct projects at one time.· Candidate must be highly motivated, be able to work with minimum supervision, and have strong communication skills.· Strong verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation capabilities.· Ability to communicate technical concepts and project information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.· Ability to develop, manage and monitor project engineering performance to ensure results meet project requirements and schedules.· Ability to coordinate the resolution of technical problems and implement changes.· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail.· Skilled in comparing construction specifications and material requirements to physical and material work products.· Skilled in reading and interpreting manuals, technical instructions and drawings, with an ability to accurately prepare brief written reports.· Skilled in use of personal computer and Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Outlook).· BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred.· 5+ years of industry experience in the field of Engineering, Project Engineering or assisting a Project Manager in multi-functional teams in a matrix environment.

Administrative:The Project Engineer will self-manage travel between assigned sites as required, plus time required at the Corporate Office in Richmond, VA (Canal Place).

Education:Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical (I&C) Engineering, Information Systems, or a scientific or technical discipline.Job Types: Full-time, ContractPay: $65.00 - $84.00 per hour
