Vega is hiring several Data Analytics positions located in Reston, VA for our Direct client. Seeking candidates with drive and passion for data analytics. Must have excellent communication and SQL skills. Prefer candidates located on the East Coast. This is 100% remote based, will convert to hybrid status.
- 5 Years Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, decision support systems (DSS), information engineering, busines administration, or other related discipline. Master’s degree in a related discipline is a plus.
- Experience with hands-on work designing and implementing data integration, Big Data.
- Experience in design, development and tuning industry leading ETL, Big Data, and/or Business Intelligence software tools in data intensive, large scale environments.
- Hands-on Hadoop ecosystem in a work (professional) setting.
- Hands-on development experience with Hadoop and the Hadoop ecosystem including tools such as Hive, Spark, Spark Streaming, Kafka, Sqoop, Flume, etc.
- Support ad-hoc requests to troubleshoot data integration issues in environments
- Coordinate with production support team to address issues in production as needed
- Coordinate with product teams, data architects and data governance teams for data integrations and Support migration to Cloud• Strong SQL and data modelling skills like 3rd normal form and dimensional modelling• Strong DB2, Java, and UNIX skills• Understanding and working (hands-on) knowledge of newer or emerging trends such as Big Data, Columnar databases, NoSQL, Hadoop, MapReduce, social media, data visualization, XML, and unstructured text is a plus.Experience with Ab Initio would be a big plus but not needed.
