https://www.expeditors.com/resources/videos/expeditors-company-overviewSUMMARY DESCRIPTION:The Data Analyst is a key role working within a highly collaborative and Agile team toward the design and development of business-critical solutions ranging from software, data analysis, business intelligence, and automation.This role will be responsible for designing data solutions that require a wide range of capabilities including reporting, data analysis, data visualizations, data modeling/engineering and ETL/ELT development. This individual will play an essential role in creating and enabling high value technological data solutions in a new space focused on intelligent data processing. This role requires basic knowledge of Expeditors data, systems and processes and relentless pursuit to master tools, technologies and programming languages used to build impactful solutions, to drive financial results, operational excellence, business, and employee development.This position is for a role within a team of developers and data professionals who support Expeditors’ network in the Americas geography.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:· Design, implement, maintain, and support scalable, efficient, automated end-to-end ETL solutions for large scale data analytics using different technologies (Apache AirFlow, SQL, Azure Databricks/Synapse, etc.)· Translate business requirements and processes into technical specification to develop Data solutions· Visualize and tell stories with data by building meaningful and intuitive reports, summaries, analyses, and dashboards· Data Quality and Validation Testing· Document, Communicate, and Present Technical Information· Maintain a clear and concise code using a version control repository (GitLab)· Sharing, Collaborating, Training and Alignment· Deploy and Measure Effective Solutions· Adhere to all analytics and development standards and procedures (i.e. ADLC, SDLC, Secure Development Processes)DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS· Bachelor’s degree or higher in the area of information systems, data analytics, computer science, industrial engineering or 2 years of related experience· Experience with database and data pipeline development using Databricks and Synapse· Demonstrated strength in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousingMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS· Experience with coding/programming in data collection and transformation (i.e. SQL, Python (preferred), VB, JavaScript, etc.)· Proficient in SQL and DDL data logic in Postgres, SQL Server, and/or IBM DB2· Experience with code versioning and CI/CD (i.e. Git, GitLab)· Knowledge of business intelligence platforms (i.e. Inetsoft, MS Power BI, Oracle BI)· Knowledge of efficient database schema design (normalization, partitioning, indexing, etc.)· Can synthesize hard (quantitative) and soft (qualitative) data into a comprehensive baseline or solution· Ability to stay organized, work independently as well as in collaborative groups· Ability to self-teach needed technologies and design technical solutions.OTHER QUALIFICATIONS· Ability to multi-task and prioritize throughout the workday while remaining focused and organized· Demonstrated ability to be pro-active in thought and action· Strong organizational skills.· Analytical with a strong attention to detail· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.· Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment· Willing to pitch in and help on last minute projects or assist team members· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.· Has a demonstrated strong work ethic, and reliability· Comfortable working in a professional business environment· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States· Must not require future sponsorship for employment Visa· Fluent in English, both written and verbalExpeditors offers excellent benefitsPaid Vacation, Holiday, Sick Time
