PURPOSE:

The Data Architect is responsible for research, development and implementation of complex data architecture aspects of engineering projects,They areaccountable for understanding and translating business needs into data designs supporting project, department and enterprise perspectives / initiatives . This role will provide thought leadership, facilitation, analysis, and design necessary to develop robust data capabilities and solutions; supporting multiple projects and adapting to a rapidly evolving technology landscape to inform system requirements and to guide solution designs. The successful candidate will collaborate extensively with project teams and stakeholders to take an active role in designing and implementing data structures for performant, scalable, and reliable solutions that support various business processes.

ESSENTIALS FUNCTIONS:
  • Provides data architecture support and input to project solutions and designs ensuing appropriate sourcing, storage, exchange, and consumption patterns of data across a complex data ecosystem involving a variety of technical platforms and inter-related business processes.
  • Act as an integral team member, partnering collaboratively with various roles and departments, on multiple projects involving Data Architecture and assume accountabilities associated therein.
  • Reviews, interprets, and translates requirements and use cases into data model designs.
  • Supports and contributes to data sourcing, flow, conversion and migration strategies.
  • Completes logical and physical data designs/models conforming to data architecture and modeling standards; reviews with Business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Participates in Team reviews of logical and physical model designs.
  • Creates DDL for database deployment and partners with Database Administration team in traditional and DevOps processes for database maintenance.
  • Supports in Data Analysis for production data related issues.
  • Supports in Creation of Creates data architecture artifacts and documentation including entity relationship diagrams, data dictionaries, external interface documentation, business process and enterprise modeling/mapping artifacts.
  • Estimates time and effort for assigned data architecture tasks.
  • Supports and Participates in Data Architecture Working Group.
  • Participates in and supports data governance efforts in data quality, metadata, and reference data management.
  • Maintains and enforces data standards and guidelines including enterprise data element names, abbreviations, definitions, and characteristics in all supporting Projects.
  • Works closely with and supports business and data governance teams on business naming standards, developing and maintaining consistent data definitions, determining data aliases, documenting standard calculations and derivations, and documenting the business rules of the enterprise.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree inComputer Science, Information Technology, or related field ORin lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

Licenses/Certifications:Certified System Architect Preferred.

Experience: 5 years Experience in the Architecture Domain.
