DescriptionJob summaryWe are looking for Data Center Technicians to join our rapidly expanding team. This position involves in-depth hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair as well as participating in an on-call rotation.All candidates should be willing to work both independently and with a team. Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful. In addition to hardware and network repair candidates will install equipment, create documentation, innovate solutions, participate in site-level project work, and fix complex problems within the Data Center Space.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS· 1+ years of experience supporting Windows, Mac and/or Linux Operating systems in a corporate setting· High school or equivalent diplomaExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAn advanced understanding of Computer Hardware, including troubleshooting and repair skills.Working understanding of Linux Operating Systems.Working understanding of Computer Networking.Working understanding of Storage Devices.Proven experience in problem solving and addressing customer service related issues by working with the customer and other internal teamsThis position has a physical component. Candidates should be able to lift up to 40lbs and may need to work in cramped spaces or elevated locations.Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in on-call rotation and provide afterhours support as neededSome travel may be requiredPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSHands-on experience with one or more of the following hardware platforms (e.g. Dell, HP) is a plus.HP, Dell, ZT, Foxconn, Super Micro, SGI, etc referred candidates would have:Previous Data Center or IT experienceKnowledge of Perl, Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience in an IT related field.Proven experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system and coordination with managerAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
