Datacenter Storage Engineer

This position is for a Datacenter engineer for a mixed environment of storage networks, consisting of NetApp, Hitachi HNAS and Tintri network attached storage, and HPE 3Par, IBM SVC and Hitachi Vantara fiber channel storage and Brocade fiber channel switches. To be successful in this role, the candidate will be required to manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot and support customers accessing ALTESS' storage services.

Clearance Required: Fully adjudicated DOD Secret, as a minimum.

Your future duties and responsibilities CGI Federal is looking for a Senior Storage Engineer that is a big picture strategist and in-depth problem solver, leveraging their expertise and CGI partnership with NetApp to provide storage architecture recommendations and data strategy's to our Federal Client. This engineer will provide technical consulting to CGI/NetApp Federal customer on location as a true trusted advisor.At this senior level, the Storage engineer will have a strong understanding of Storage Infrastructure Design (end-to-end), Cloud, Virtualization, and keen understanding in how to position CGI Federal consulting services. This role has responsibility for identifying customer technology needs and future client needs and be able to troubleshoot and maintain the strategy of successfully delivering and deploying the technology to a critical client.Together, NetApp and CGI provide healthcare, manufacturing, financial services and government clients with access to specialized digital services and scalable end-to-end capabilities.• Responsible for design of new and existing installations, the configuration, security and maintenance of highly available enterprise data storage systems• Skilled at proactive monitoring of the ongoing operation of storage systems and providing utilization reports to identify problems and corrective actions as needed• Observing performance on FC network and NAS attached storage systems, troubleshoot any performance problems and apply near term fixes that result in long term solutions• Refresh data from one environment to another at the request of the application or service owner customers• Provide input for, and develop documentation/standard operating procedures (SOP) that result in repeatable processes for installation and setup and all artifacts that support the rational; -the how and why we did it this way-• Develop and publish team vetted storage standards and policies as needed• Follow ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) practices for Change Management

Required qualifications to be successful in this role• Three or more years of experience with enterprise level IT environments• Two or more years of experience with network attached storage administration• Two or more years of experience with block storage and FC network administration• Two or more years of experience with Linux and Windows Server 2012 R2 & 2016, to include installation configuration and troubleshooting• Experience with scripting, using PowerShell 2.0 (or higher), bash, and simple scripting• Strong CLI skills• Participate in 7x24 on-call support rotation and expected to work during mission critical situations• Ability to be onsite to perform physical tasks and/or meet and greet with teams and leadership

Desired Skills:• Working knowledge of DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Security Readiness Review (SRR) scripts, and Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM)• Experience with DCX Brocade FC switches and Brocade Network Advisor• Experience with HPE 3PAR, Hitachi Vantara, and IBM FC storage• Experience with NetApp and Tintri network attached storage• Experience with FC, CIFS, NFS and iSCSI storage protocols• Experience with block based replication

Required Interpersonal Traits:• A team mindset• Strong communication skills, written and oral• Solid desire to learn the ALTESS storage environment

Required Certifications:1. CompTIA Security+2. Computing Environment (CE) Certification - can be waived for 3 months after project join date.
