A tech services organization in Virginia has a Remote opportunity awaiting an experienced DevOps Engineer.
Responsibilities: The DevOps Engineer (Remote) will:- Automate and orchestrate workloads across Mainframe and Amazon Web Services
- Integrate test automation within CI/CD pipelines to include both legacy and modernization architectures
- Provide Application Programming Interface (API) component development to support modernization of legacy application components
- Support unit testing and integration of developed application components
- Evaluate and recommending modernization tools sets in Cloud and legacy environments (AWS and mainframe)
- Provide coaching and mentoring to junior staff
- Perform other duties, as needed
- 5+ years of DevOps experience
- Associate's Degree in Computer Programming and/or relevant field required
- Agile practice certification such as CSM or SASM
- Familiarity with one or more of the following DevOps Tools: Git or GitHub, Jenkins, puppet, chef ansible
- Automation experience with configuration/deployment management systems such as, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, AWS Cloud Formation, Salt, or other such tools
- Experience delivering change in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Experience in the Atlassian toolset: Jira, Confluence, etc.
- Proven experience with the following or similar languages: Python, PHP, Ruby, Groovy and Java.
- Proficient with Git and Git workflows
- Proficient in leveraging CI and CD tools to automate testing and deployment
- Solid problem solving and time management skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent training
- Experience in implementing DevOps and CI/CD pipelines in a mainframe zOS environment
- Experience with mainframe DevOps tools such as IBM Dependency Based Build, Groovy, and Urban Code Deploy
