Job Title: Electromagnetic EngineerJob DescriptionOur client is seeking an Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Engineer to join their team and lead the E3 design, development, and analysis of complex electronic products for space systems. This position involves working across diverse engineering disciplines in support of multiple space system programs, providing oversight across all phases from origin to orbit. The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for learning new innovations and possess extensive expertise in E3 engineering, which encompasses the impact of the electromagnetic environment on components, assemblies, equipment, subsystems, systems, and other space platforms.Responsibilities

Write, interpret, allocate, tailor, and flow down E3 requirements to all design levels.

Present at design reviews to internal and external customers regarding E3 issues.

Write E3 design guidelines, develop models, and perform analyses on components, subsystems, and systems using EMI principles.

Design ground systems, chassis, and harness shielding, EMI filters, and select and lay out interface circuitry for achieving EMC.

Prepare and review E3 test procedures, E3 test reports, E3 technical analyses, E3 control plans, and participate in cross-discipline design reviews for EMC.

Essential Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a STEM discipline with 12 years of experience.

Working knowledge of MIL-STD 461, MIL-STD 464, NASA-GEVS-7000, and other E3 space requirement standards.

Ability to successfully allocate, tailor, and flow down system-level E3 requirements into lower-level requirements.

Extensive E3 design and analysis experience.

Working knowledge of lab test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, generators, amplifiers, and measurement antennas.

Eligibility for Top Secret/SCI Clearance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a specialty in Electromagnetics, RF, or analog circuitry.

Experience with defense and aerospace industry practices, and programmatic skills supporting BOE, RFP, ROM, CAM, WBS, and Risk assessments for E3 compliance.

Design experience with EMI filters, circuit layout and analysis for E3, shielding, lightning protection, cable, and harnessing design.

Experience in modeling and simulation of E3 using commercially available software.

Work EnvironmentThe work environment involves collaborating with a dedicated team on impactful space programs and missions, including HALO, which aims to send astronauts to the moon and Mars. The role will require working with advanced technologies and equipment in a lab setting, adhering to high standards of safety and precision. The position demands a high level of security clearance (Top Secret/SCI Clearance), and the work will involve strict adherence to industry standards and regulations.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $87.00 - $110.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
