ELECTRONIC SECURITY SYSTEMS ENGINEER (PFPA-22-0473-F): Bowhead seeks an Electronic Security Systems Engineer to support the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) contract located in Arlington, VA. The Electronic Security Systems Engineer will has experience managing and maintaining video surveillance systems (VSS), to include cameras, storage, applications, and appurtenances. As the Electronic Security Systems Engineer, you will provide the Department of Defense with full lifecycle systems engineering to include Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems; Identity Management Systems; Closed Circuit Systems and IP based Video Surveillance Systems; and Physical Security Information Management Systems. Essential functions include: • Lead taskings, facilitate meetings, and track due-outs to closure from various stakeholders focused on objectives as assigned • Apply professional MS Word skills to prepare, monitor, and maintain weekly status reports for the Leased Facilities Team • Apply professional MS PowerPoint skills to develop directorate, executive level presentations for Agency leadership involving project and security program management • Manage and maintain project taskings and archival of critical activity records in accordance with standard operating procedures and best practices • Address and prioritize efforts to effectively resolve issues in areas where directed or inherent job duties and ability to use discretion when other stakeholders need to be involved to assist efforts • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally to various stakeholders with differing perspectives and mission objectives • Provide inputs into the development of Business Needs / Case Analysis and Project Charters • Develop program documentation such as Concept of Operations documents, training manuals, troubleshooting guides, business cases, and project charters • Develop, track, and manage project schedules • Gather and analyze system requirements from customers and stakeholders and shall provide input into the development of Performance Work Statements, cost estimates, and market research • Review and approve OGC provided software updates, coordinate scheduled and unscheduled outages of VSS assets • Perform system / sensor / device installation, troubleshooting, and repairs and install configuration software • Conduct technical analysis of systems of operational and design requirements, construction and implementation requirements, performance characteristics, cost / benefit and sustainment requirements • Advise the government lead regarding most effective approaches to support short and long-term goals • Perform data analysis and make recommendations to improve system performance and reduce operational costs • Assess commercially-available-off-the-shelf (COTS) systems and emerging technologies and product technical reports on system feasibility, reliability, and cost effectiveness • Provide design drawings to document system installations and infrastructure enhancements • Develop and implement quality assurance standards for electronic security systems and mission applications, to include develop and maintain databases to record system performance and operations in order to ensure quality assurance standards are achieved • Collaborate with Original Equipment Manufacturers to configure applications, for system integration, updates, testing, troubleshooting, and to resolve anomalous system performance and sensor network issues

Requirements In accordance with Executive Order 14042: Ensuring Adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors, candidates should be aware that they may be required to have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire. • Seven (7+) years of experience with managing large scale access control, intrusion detection, IP based video surveillance, identity management, or other similar types of electronic security systems; or five (5+) years of similar experience with a baccalaureate degree in relevant technical field; or three (3+) years of similar experience with a post-baccalaureate degree in a technical field. • Be able to read, review, and understand architectural drawings. • Must be able to demonstrate analytical skills, presentation skills, and project management skills. • Prior DoD experience is preferred. • PMP is preferred. • Physical security certifications are desired. • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint • Ability to communicate effectively, interpret regulatory guidance and identified vulnerabilities to a wide audience • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must hold an active security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
