Job Description

HII is seeking qualified candidates to contribute to a hardware engineering effort involving microelectronics solutions. This effort includes direct functional evaluation of hardware as well as contributing to the investigation, research, development, design, and functional testing of new electrical engineering hardware solutions. Many innovative solutions applying to DoD and IC mission critical problems will be researched, developed, and deployed.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • The candidate will need extensive knowledge in electrical hardware design and verification experience as a basis.
  • Ideally the candidate will also have experience in hardware reverse engineering, designing power systems (both high and low voltage), digital and analog system design, and extensive hardware system design and debug expertise.
  • Experience with PCB design, embedded system design, various EDA tools (schematics, PCB-layout, spice simulation, etc.), bench-top debug, device physics, and failure analysis is a plus.

Domain knowledge in one or more of the following areas is not required by highly beneficial:
  • RF

  • Guidance and Navigation
  • Communications Systems

Ability to research a problem, engineer solutions, and work as a part of a fast-paced team is required. Work will be performed at a customer facility in the Washington Metropolitan Area (WMA). This position requires ability to have and maintain a TS//SCI security clearance with poly. An active clearance is required.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • BS or greater in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • 15+ years of experience in electrical hardware design and verification
  • Competency with electrical hardware debugging
  • Familiarity with industry standard EDA tools (schematics, PCB-layout, spice simulation, etc.)
  • 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.

Preferred Requirements

Desired Skills:
  • Hardware Domain Knowledge (RF, EW, RADAR, etc.)
  • Embedded systems experience
  • Electrical debug and/or Hardware Reverse Engineering experience
  • PCB design
  • Bench-top debug/testing experience
  • Failure Analysis/Device Physics
