Job Description: Flavor Analytical Assistant

Apex Systems is seeking an experienced Flavor Analytical Assistant near Richmond, VA for a for a 1 year contract with one of the world's largest producers and marketers of tobacco, cigarettes and related products. Please forward resumes to Greg at .

Responsibilities:
  • Analysis of tobacco and other non-tobacco products.
  • Sample preparation: weigh and aliquot samples; do extraction and concentration.
  • Prepare standard and reagent solutions.
  • Run instrument: loading and starting sequence batches on instrument, and perform data processing, calculation, and reporting.
  • Recording daily lab activities in word documents or paper notebooks.
  • Work independently to perform tasks and report results to project leader or stakeholders.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science.
  • Fundamental knowledge of analytical chemistry.
  • Experience with sample preparation and extraction techniques for quantitative analysis of target compounds in complex matrices.
  • Familiar with MS for chemical separation and identification.
  • Proficient in technical writing, documentation, and computing (use Microsoft Office). Demonstrated communication skills.
