GEOINT Standards Developer (SME) Springfield, VAWe are seeking a rockstar GEOINT Standards Developer (Lead Imagery Standars Developer) to join our team! This position works in collaboration with NSG & ASG community membership, international partners, and other members of the GEOINT & IT Standards Division to ensure current and updated standards content for still & motion imagery standards meet capability delivery dates for NGA & NSG initiatives and solution providers. The Lead Imagery Standards Developer is responsible for providing specialized advice and assistance on complex technical projects and shall independently performs a variety of system analysis, design and/or engineering tasks that are broad and innovative in nature. The Lead Imagery Standards Developer serves as a Subject Mater Expert (SME) on development of Still and/or Motion Imagery Standards with the objective of facilitating compliance and interoperability through integration of NSG & ASG requirements while reducing technical and schedule risk in still imagery standards (e.g., NITF, NITF Extensions, and NATO Imagery STANAGs) and motion imagery phenomenologies (e.g. EO, LVMI/WAMI, IR, MSI, and HSI) standards.General Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing specialized advice and assistance on complex technical projects. Known in his/her field of expertise. Independently performs a variety of system analysis, design and/or engineering tasks that are broad and innovative in nature. Participates in national level steering and advisory groups, panels, and committees. Advises/mentors’ technical personnel at all levels and reviews work for technical accuracy. Guides the strategic growth of scientific imagery programs.
- Ensure current and future GEOINT standards will satisfy capability requirements at the program and strategic level across NGA, the NSG, and ASG.
- Develop capability-based standards profiles & reference architectures to enable search, discovery, access, retrieval, integrated intelligence, and advanced analytics are enabled.
- Able to develop & use exceptionally complex concepts & processes that span multiple organizations and disciplines.
- Performs multiple tasks at the expert level.
- Leads Senior/Mid-level personnel.
- Recommends new technology to senior leadership.
- Have expert-level working experience (10 years or more) developing Imagery Standards.
- Have at least five (5) years demonstrated experience with:Still Imagery collection, encoding, and operations, to include still imagery standards & Tagged Record Extensions (TRE)
