Job Purpose: The General Manager Maintenance oversees all activity within a Zone to include the process and activities of the Maintenance staff as well as overseeing all vehicle repairs for all Hertz Business Segments. To do this the General Manager Maintenance will work closely with Region staff and Location management to achieve successful utilization of fleet and optimal Out of Service results (OOS). The chosen candidate will have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and be able to manage direct reporting relationships as well as collaborate and influence operational leaders. Key-result areas: Responsible for defining strategies that align with the strategic objectives of the Maintenance plans while communicating and helping the team execute to ensure that strategic objectives are met
Developing Maintenance Managers as well as holding them accountable for required deliverables
Ensure timely and quality mechanical and body damage repairs of vehicles during their Lifecycle
Minimizing all cost related to vehicle maintenance and service while ensuring the highest quality at the most efficient costs/revenue to the company
Oversee all functions related to Asset Management (Inventory Control, Parts, EAM, etc.) within the region
Collaborate with Operations to drive peak utilization in all areas
Key stake holder in region OOS and responsible for managing across all geographical areas
Educational Background: Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
Professional Experience:
7+ Years of Fleet Management or Maintenance Management experience
3+ Years prior management
Operations experience in a similar industry is necessary
Previous experience managing and developing teams
Understanding of vehicles and of them
Knowledge:
Registration and Titling
Hertz procedures related to new vehicle installation, sale of wrecked vehicles, handling of titles
At minimum, a general understanding of vehicle maintenance and processes
Skills:
Highly organized.
Ability to interface with multi-faceted, cross-functional teams
Flexible and able to adapt to changes
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a focus on internal relationship building to allow for business success
