ASRC Federal Space and Defense is seeking a
Ground Systems Lead for our team in Chantilly, VA. Overview: The successful candidate will serve as the Ground Systems Lead to develop, integrate test and support a satellite constellation ground segment using existing DoD infrastructure. This ground segment will consist of two primary elements, Constellation Operations and Mission Operations. Key Role:- Manage the software engineering and integration (SE&I) required to deliver a Ground segment enterprise for a new space programrequirements, integration, testing, on-orbit management. This includes the external ground networks for flow of mission data.
- Lead a ground SE&I team of up to ten people in delivering traditional systems integration artifacts, including a technical baseline, segment architecture, requirements decomposition, concept of operations, risk management program, integrated master schedules, and other programmatic materials.
- Work directly with customer program managers and senior engineers as the focal point to deliver a ground segment compatible with system architectures, schedules, and performance
- Translate high-level product development strategies into system requirement specifications and works with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements
- Review and author ground segment SE&I products for technically-clear, programmatically-focused artifacts to inform the ground segment development and integration
- A minimum of 15 years of experience developing and integrating space ground enterprises
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field required
- Ability to solve complex technical problems and provide innovative solutions. Demonstrated success in determining actions necessary to obtain desired results. Expert in satellite ground systems.
- Current/Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Experience managing a team to develop, test and stand up a complete satellite ground system using existing DoD ground system infrastructures
- 10 years of experience related to leading a technical team to establish and evaluate system and subsystem level requirements and ensures requirements comply with client requirements and government standards through formal verification methods
- Demonstrated experience translating high level product development strategies into system requirement specifications.
- Experience establishing and coordinating the development of standards, practices, and procedures and managing system interfaces to bring system elements together to work as a whole.
- Experience in developing test plans and procedures to ensures they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and overseeing testing to validate requirements.
- Experience leading communications with various industry partners and government customers
- 5 years systems engineering and integration; 5 years space operations experience preferred
- Experience in DOD and IC policy, practices and standards related to space systems is preferred.
