DescriptionSAIC has a need for a Hardware Electrical Engineer to provide onsite systems engineering and technical advisory services (SETA) in a dynamic NRO System Program Office (SPO) supporting the Government customer with multiple satellite systems, both on-orbit and in development. This position will primarily support the design, development, manufacturing, assembly, and integration and test activities for payload and satellite electrical subsystems for two major satellite programs. The job requires familiarity with NRO organization, processes, and satellite systems.Job Responsibilities:
Supports the System Program Office (SPO) in a technical capacity for planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of systems development and acquisitions
Overseeing design and development of electrical hardware systems and components
Applying complex specifications, tolerances, simulations, and test procedures for electrical hardware systems and components
Assisting the Government in developing concept of operations (CONOPS) and approaches to employment of electrical hardware systems
Ensuring research and development (R&D) efforts are planned and conducted on sound engineering practices including management of technical risks
Providing technical support to Government customer activities and programmatic processes
Developing documents and briefings to communicate work or study status, briefs Government and industry as required
Supports Contract Officer Technical Representatives (COTRs) and developers by coordinating with other technical domain SMEs and program stakeholders to achieve a detailed understanding of the flight systems, designs, and interfaces necessary to satisfy mission requirements
Providing oversight of acquisitions, with specific focus on the electrical hardware system elements, functionality, interfaces, manufacture, build, test, and operations to ensure end-to-end system closure and satisfaction of mission need
Reviewing Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables to ensure content, technical accuracy, and sufficiency of design details to meet program requirements and objectives
Participating in technical interchange meetings between developers and COTR
Qualifications
Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience
Experience with electrical subsystem operations and processing
Experience with how electrical subsystems are designed, specified, developed, manufactured, and tested
Experience how space systems are designed, specified, developed, manufactured, and tested
Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in a government/contractor team environment
TS/SCI with polygraph
