ARCHITECTURE ANALYST

ALTA IT Services has a contract to hire opening for an IT Architecture Analyst to support a leading, Reston, VA – based health insurance customer. Work remains COVID remote for the foreseeable future.

Our hiring team is seeking an experienced architecture repository administrator / manager with project management and leadership skills. Qualified candidates will understand the value and impact of a robust, accessible architecture modeling tool and repository; and also understand the purpose and roles of architecture domain teams (business, enterprise, solution, data) and how a modeling tool and repository can help them succeed.

The Senior Architecture Analyst will apply their analytical, communications and creative skills to help architects define use cases and requirements for the Architecture Tool & Repository (ATR). The role will work with a team to configure and deploy new ATR features (i.e., diagram templates, interactive dashboards, workflows, reports, portal pages), manage ATR operations, and ensure that architecture content is organized and accessible to stakeholders / consumers via the architecture portal.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Architecture Tool Configuration – Work with team and vendor consultants to configure Orbus iServer365 features, including viewpoint templates (Visio), metamodel, catalogs, reports, PowerBI dashboards, workflows, and SharePoint portal pages. Work with business, solution, and enterprise architects to define use cases and requirements for iServer365 features to be configured and deployed.
  • Architecture Tool Management – Support administration and operations of the iServer365 ATR, including user onboarding, troubleshooting, intake requests, curation, and continual improvement.
  • Architecture Tool Knowledge Transfer and Training – Work with team members to capture / document knowledge acquired from Orbus consultants related to ATR configuration and administration activities. Support development of end-user training material to supplement vendor-provided courses with company-specific use cases and configuration.
  • Project Management – Support development, maintenance, execution, and monitoring of the ATR Project Plan. Maintain backlog of ATR use cases and features and engage users, stakeholders, and ATR steering committee in the prioritization and sequencing of backlog items. Prepare project status reports, inputs to issue / risks register, and overall ATR project roadmap for periodic review with the ATR steering committee.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required
  • 3-5 years of experience in business, solution, enterprise or similar architecture-related discipline(s).
  • 1-2 years of experience in project management.
  • Understanding of, and experience with, TOGAF or similar architecture frameworks.
  • Experience with use and/or administration of architecture modeling tools (i.e., Orbus, Bizzdesign, Mega, etc.).
  • Ability to motivate and influence others so that project objectives are met in a timely manner.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to develop high quality solutions.
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal/relationship management, analytical, communications (written and verbal) and collaboration.

Preferred, Not Required
  • Experience with configuration and management of Orbus iServer or iServer365.
  • Experience with configuration / administration of SharePoint sites, pages, and libraries.
  • One or more certification in architecture, business analysis, and/or project management (i.e., TOGAF, CBA, CBAP, PMP, Prince2, Lean Six Sigma).

Hourly Rate: $60/hr. range. Benefits available for W2.
