Basic Purpose

IT Auditor

Conduct complex IT and information security audits to assess risk and opportunities for Navy Federal technical activities. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and established internal policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for analyzing and assessing Navy Federal's technological infrastructure to ensure processes and systems run accurately and efficiently, while remaining secure and meeting compliance regulations• Examine IT controls, evaluating the design and/or operational effectiveness, identify issues, determine exposure to risk, and review action plans to remediate issues• Assess adherence to and compliance with regulation, requirements, policies, and standards• Examine the organization's IT systems to ensure sufficient controls are in place to provide for confidentiality, availability and integrity of system and processes.• Identify and quantify issues and provide risk-based recommendations to implement and enhance internal controls to Senior- or Lead-level auditors or management • Develop and/or provide input to timely and quality audit reports• Review management commitments, plans of action and milestone and evidence for remediation of identified issues• Maintain knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and NFCU policies and procedures• Present consistent, concise, relevant, reliable, and timely information to all appropriate internal and external stakeholders through a variety of media• Present findings, conclusions, alternatives, and information clearly and concisely• Maintain the highest level of customer support through proactive support of continuous improvement initiatives• Communicate and/or present issues to Senior- and/or Lead-level auditors, ensure current information is shared in a timely manner• Build relationships with business partners through participation in audit engagements to ensure a culture of collaboration• Collaborate with IT Risk management initiatives, including internal and external audits, assessments and/or advisory engagements• Stay abreast of industry best practices, requirements, and technology changes• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience• Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, rules, and regulations• Knowledge of one or more: IT Risk, General Controls, Information Security Frameworks and best practices• Knowledge of technology and financial systems risk assessments and documentation• Skill in the analysis of technical issues to recommend strategies to achieve objectives and/or requirements• Provide ideas and thinking around technical decisions and issues• Ensure positive working relationships with all levels of leadership, staff, and vendors• Skill exercising initiative and using good judgement to make sound decisions• Skilled in analytical and/or critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills• Skilled verbal and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications and Education Requirements

• IT Certifications - CompTIA A+, Network+, Security +, CISA, CRISC, CISSP or GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) Certification• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field• Knowledge of Navy Federal's functions, philosophy, operations and organizational objectives

Salary Range: $74,400 - $127,200 annually

Senior IT Auditor

• Responsible for planning and executing IT audit engagements analyzing and assessing Navy Federal's technological infrastructure to ensure processes and systems run accurately and efficiently, while remaining secure and meeting compliance regulations• Develop risk-based audit objectives, scopes, and test plans to ensure NFCU's IT systems and infrastructure are compliant with regulation, requirements, policies, and standards• Plan and execute audits of the organization's IT systems in place to provide for confidentiality, availability and integrity of system and processes.• Mentor Auditors and/or support staff in the execution of audits and assessments• Identify and quantify issues and provide additional risk-based recommendations to implement or enhance internal controls to Lead-level auditors or management• Develop timely and quality audit reports• Maintain knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and NFCU policies and procedures• Establish and present audit reporting to ensure that goals and objectives are being met• Review findings, conclusions, alternatives, and information to ensure those are presented clearly and concisely• Present consistent, concise, relevant, reliable, and timely information to all appropriate internal and external stakeholders through a variety of media• Maintain the highest level of customer support through proactive identification and support of implementation of continuous improvement initiatives• Communicate system and technical concerns to management, ensure current information is shared in a timely manner• Build relationships with business partners through the execution of audit engagements to ensure a culture of collaboration• Collaborate with IT Risk management initiatives, including internal and external audits, assessments and/or advisory engagements• Provide oversight of audit engagements through the development and presentation of audit reporting as required by management• Stay abreast of industry best practices, requirements, and technology changes• Perform other duties as assigned
