Java Desktop Application Environment Developer

(2 Positions)

Worksite: Falls Church, VA or Lakewood, CO (Some Remote Work)

Contract Length: 5 Year Contract

Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident Mindbank Consulting Group has an immediate need for a Java Web Application Developer.

Java Web Application Developer Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily Java Desktop Application Development and Maintenance support to Application Development Team.
  • Maintain the application by implementing bug fixes and applying updates and patches as required.
  • Comfortable with debugging and independent problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability and patience to pay attention to detail.
  • Recommend, document, and implement any approved changes to the system to improve performance.
  • Follow agile development methodology including daily stand-up meetings with the project manager and other personnel.
  • Coordinate development and deliverable schedules (dev platform, test, training / staging, etc.).
  • Tests, documents work, writes and maintains operator instructions for assigned programs, and confers with other personnel to obtain or provide factual data.
  • In addition, may carry out fact-finding and programming analysis of a single activity or routine problem, applying established procedures where the nature of the program, feasibility, computer equipment, and programming language have already been decided.
  • Applying program logic in selecting and adapting standard programming procedures, resolves problems and deviations according to established practices, and obtains advice where precedents are unclear or not available.

Java Web Application Developer Qualifications:
  • Develop Java Web applications having a high level of proficiency in the Java 8 or higher, JavaFX, SQL, and SQL Server
  • 5+ years’ experience developing Java Desktop Applications
  • Able to work independently under specified objectives.
