SimVentions, consistently voted one of Virginia's Best Places to Work, is looking for a Database Developer to join our team and provide database development and administration in an Agile development environment as part of an integrated contractor-government team developing weapons system software and naval information systems.
Responsibilities: The Database Administrator/Developer will provide database development and maintenance support in coordination with software programmers and business application developers to create properly sized and properly functioning database structures various business applications. Required Skills & Experience: At least 2 years of education in, experience with, and knowledge of at least two (2) programming languages. Specific experience as follows:- Demonstrated ability to understand and be able to perform tasking as a technical resource in a Database Administration team that is responsible for database administration and SQL development, serving as point of contact for database design
- Demonstrated ability with Oracle patching, restoration, disaster recovery, auditing
- Work with Oracle Utilities (SQLLoader, DataPump Import/Export)
- Programming in UNIX, Perl, PL/SQL, and SQL
- Work with both OLTP and OLAP databases
- Due to the requirements in the Safer Federal Workforce Taskforce guidance and the nature of our covered contracts and facilities, all employees may need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have a legal exemption with approved accommodation.
- Experience understanding business processes and mapping those processes to SQL code
- Experience troubleshooting customer reported issues through code and/or data analysis
- Experience reading product specifications and implementing those specifications using SQL and UNIX scripting
- Experience communicating and documenting concepts via the generation of CM documentation, SOPs, white papers, presentations, training packages, and technical data packages
