SimVentions, consistently voted one of Virginia's Best Places to Work, is looking for a Database Developer to join our team and provide database development and administration in an Agile development environment as part of an integrated contractor-government team developing weapons system software and naval information systems.
Responsibilities: The Database Administrator/Developer will provide database development and maintenance support in coordination with software programmers and business application developers to create properly sized and properly functioning database structures various business applications. Required Skills & Experience: Demonstrated ability to:- Understand and be able to perform tasking as a technical resource in a Database Administration team
- Serve as a point of contact for DB design.
- Work with Oracle Utilities.
- Create table spaces for data storage, setup of database objects (i.e., tables, indexes, triggers, stored procedures, views).
- Analyze data sets to detect data patterns/trends with the end goal of improving DB operations.
- Analyze the database to improve efficiency and functionality, then make the appropriate adjustments as necessary to optimize the DB.
- Set up access control measures for data sets
- Due to the requirements in the Safer Federal Workforce Taskforce guidance and the nature of our covered contracts and facilities, all employees may need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have a legal exemption with approved accommodation.
- Experience understanding business processes and mapping those processes to SQL code
- Experience troubleshooting customer reported issues through code and/or data analysis
- Experience reading product specifications and implementing those specifications using SQL and UNIX scripting
