Lead Data Engineer (Remote-Eligible)The nAble Tech Team is looking for a technical lead to join our team of passionate software and data engineers in McLean, supporting the Market Intelligence LOB, which is part of Corporate Strategy.Market Intelligence develops, governs, and provides proprietary and syndicated market research data sources across LOBs and channels enterprise-wide to ensure strategy is aligned to market reality. Using data driven insights over Key Performance Indicators, the team provides the enterprise with total market trends and business performance metrics.Candidates should possess deep knowledge and interest across big data technologies and have a strong background in data engineering. In this role you will be part of a collaborative, agile team:- You will work on a team of skilled software and data engineers who will build data pipeline frameworks to automate high-volume and real-time data delivery for our Spark and streaming data hub
- You will transform complex analytical models in scalable, production-ready solutions
- You will provide support and enhancements for an advanced anomaly detection machine learning platform
- You will continuously integrate and ship code into our cloud production environments
- You will develop cloud based applications from the ground up using a modern technology stack
- You will work directly with Product Owners and customers to deliver data products in a collaborative and agile environment
- Leading and developing sustainable data driven solutions with current new generation data technologies to drive our business and technology strategies
- Designing robust systems with an eye on the long-term maintenance and support of the application
- Leveraging reusable code modules to solve problems across the team and organization
- Handling multiple functions and roles for the projects and Agile teams
- Providing business, application and technology consulting in feasibility discussions with technology team members and business partners
- Defining, executing and continuously improving our internal software architecture processes
- Being a technology thought leader and strategist
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 6 years of experience in application development (Internship experience does not apply)
- At least 2 years of experience in big data technologies
- At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
- 7+ years of experience in application development including Python, SQL, Scala, or Java
- 4+ years of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
- 4+ years experience with Distributed data/computing tools (MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, or MySQL)
- 4+ year experience working on real-time data and streaming applications
- 4+ years of experience with NoSQL implementation (Mongo, Cassandra)
- 4+ years of data warehousing experience (Redshift or Snowflake)
- 4+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux including basic commands and shell scripting
- 2+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices
