Job Description Summary

We support our lines of business in transforming how governments serve the people and improve their lives, through the adoption of emerging technologies.In the role of a Lead Data Scientist, you will collaborate with teams in advancing the applied use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), support the end-to-end implementation of AI/ML solutions, work with engineering teams in integrating AI/ML solutions into their solutions, and investigate tools while supporting the deployment of MLOps platform. You will be a self-starter who is comfortable stepping up and taking ownership, orchestrating new possibilities, constantly innovating and willing to explore and challenge the status quo.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:•Accomplished hands-on technical leader and a team player with 3+ years' experience in leading Data Science teams.•Passion for learning, growing, and mentoring team members.•Develop solutions in a highly collaborative and agile environment.Minimum Requirements:•Bachelor's degree in related field.•5-7 years of relevant professional experience required.•Demonstrated understanding and application of Trustworthy AI principles to address ethical, legal, and societal implications of AI/ML and application.•Strong software development skills.•Experience with scientific and machine learning libraries e.g., SciPy, Scikit-learn, NumPy, spaCy.•Experience with DL frameworks such as Tensorflow and PyTorch•Experience with ML Ops practices & frameworks and implementing solutions within cloud environments including container-based environments (Docker, Kubernetes)•Proficient with Natural Language Processing, Graph Neural Networks, Knowledge Graphs•Proficient with developing predictive models on structured data (regression, classification, clustering, time-series)•Nice to have: ChatGPT (Generative Pretrained Transformers) Job Summary Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Lead AI/ML solutions from scoping through deployment and monitoring.- Collaborate with engineers, solution architects, project managers, and our services teams, to design and implement models and experiments from end to end, including data ingestion and preparation, analysis and modeling, model deployment, monitoring and documentation.- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and build AI/ML models to support lines of business.- Lead, mentor, and delegate assignments to a team of data scientists.- Work with engineering teams in integrating AI/ML solutions into their solutions.- Collaborate with teams in advancing the applied use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to support the end-to-end implementation of AI/ML solutions.- Collaborate on the selection and piloting of platforms (e.g. MLOps) and tools.- Maintain current knowledge of AI technology landscape and emerging developments; attend tradeshows and conferences.- Contribute towards the curation, development, and promotion of playbooks, best practices, standards such as Responsible AI, and lessons learned.Minimum Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in related field.- 7-10 years of relevant professional experience required.- Experience with scientific and machine learning libraries e.g., SciPy, Scikit-learn, NumPy, spaCy.- Experience with DL frameworks such as Tensorflow and PyTorch.- Experience with ML Ops practices & frameworks and implementing solutions within cloud environments including container-based environments (Docker, Kubernetes).- Proficient with Natural Language Processing, Graph Neural Networks, Knowledge Graphs.- Proficient with developing predictive models on structured data (regression, classification, clustering, time-series). Pay Transparency Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards.
