LEAD JAVA DEVELOPER (Java/J2EE 8+ / Spring 4+) ALTA IT Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of System One, a leading provider of specialized workforce solutions and integrated services. ALTA is an established leader in IT Staffing and Services, for both government and commercial enterprises across the United States, specializing in Program & Project Management, Application Development, Cybersecurity, Data & Advanced Analytics, and Agile Transformation Services. We’re staffing multiple Lead Java Developer openings to support a leading, Reston, VA based health insurance customer. Work is remote throughout the remainder of COVID safety measures, with an expected, future return to a partial remote / partial onsite hybrid model in Reston, VA after pandemic conditions have passed. REQUIREMENTS 10+ years of experience, with extensive experience working with Java/J2EE 8+ and Spring 4
Must have extensive experience with web services and understanding of RESTful / SOA Services, especially using Spring Boot
Nice to have experience in working with API Management Tools.
Must have strong experience with batch applications (Spring Batch) and scheduling
Must have strong experience with working on front end applications using JavaScript, JQuery, Angular 8+ and Bootstrap.
Nice to have experience working on and resolving 508 Accessibility for webpages, mobile/responsive, and documents
Must have strong experience working with WebSphere 9+ and Tomcat 9
Nice to have experience working on Cloud technologies (AWS)
Must have extensive experience with DB2 and Mainframe systems and SQL queries
Must have extensive experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
Must have strong experience in continuous integration within DevOps environment (Jenkins, Sonar).
Must have strong experience in working with GIT/BitBucket.
Must have data integration/ETL development experience, preferably with Ab Initio and Big Data (HBase/Solr)
Must have Java 8+ development experience with ability to develop unit / integration test cases using Junit /TestNg.
Nice to have experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) for automated acceptance tests
Must have ability to understand and work with code developed by other developers.
Must have ability to work independently.
Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (in English).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Working within scrum team of developers, testers, Scrum Master, and BAs to complete user stories
Working on various types of frontend/backend functionality to support functional enhancements, POCs, and analysis
Working with architects to create detailed design for implementation from architecture design
Develop, test, and deploy code according to standards and best practices
Participating Agile and Scrum ceremonies and processes
Participating in Developer code reviews
HOURLY RATE: $85/hr. range, Benefits available. C2C OK
