Lead Architect, Mobile Network AccessIn this role, you will collaborate within the organization to lead the design and implementation of a 5G access network within software-defined datacenters to be deployed globally. As the subject-matter expert for organization's next-generation core network, you will lead development of a clear technology roadmap to offer mobility services that surpass any the satellite industry has offered to date, while ensuring seamless integration between the terrestrial and space-based components with a standards-compliant architecture. Successful execution of the technology roadmap will be ensured with your leadership across the organization. To achieve the desired results, you will support the product team in the ideation stage and network engineering in the planning, implementation and launch stages of the product development life cycle.   • Align technology initiatives with the corporate strategy and communicate this strategy with key stakeholders to lead program execution throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with other technology leaders to author Requests for Proposals and define solutions for product enablement of new network services.
  • Identify technologies, systems and processes to reduce CAPEX and OPEX, then create technical documentation and presentations to effectively communicate your ideas.
  • Lead ideation of mobile core architectures and identify the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to benchmark alternative solutions for organization's mobile network core.
  • Oversee the evaluation of 4G/LTE and 5G core network technologies with thorough test plans to be executed in collaboration with the Development Engineering team.
  • Participate in 3GPP RAN workgroups to ensure company's compliance with relevant standards for 4G/LTE and 5G access networks.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise for company's technology roadmap, including 4G and 5G network technologies to be leveraged for mobility use cases.
  • Work with key stakeholders to design a 4G/5G access network that integrates seamlessly with organization's terrestrial network and ensure successful implementation.
Can you drive these processes?
  • Ideation of new products and services enabled with a 4G/LTE and 5G access networks
  • Lead innovation initiatives through the product development lifecycle to bring new services to market
  • Lead architecture, development and testing of mobile network functions to ensure seamless interoperability between Organization and Mobile Network Operators (MNOs).
  • Incorporate space-based platforms with new industry standards for 4G/5G access networks to be deployed by Organization.
You should definitely have:
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in engineering or technology
  • You'll need 8-10 years of recent experience with mobile network design and architecture
  • The ability to effectively collaborate with others, resolve complex problems, provide technical leadership for cross-functional teams and move projects forward
  • Deep technical understanding of current and future service offerings for mobility customers and the terminal equipment used to access 4G/5G networks
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to senior leadership, influence stakeholders, garner their support and resolve conflicts
  • Expertise with 3GPP network standards and experience with mobile network slicing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, etc.)
  • Subject-matter expertise with eNB and gNB access networks used by mobile operators
  • Knowledge of satellite and mobile network architectures: 3GPP/LTE, EPS/EPC
  • Knowledge of Network Protocols: MGoogle Cloud Platform, SIP/IMS, SDP, RTP/RTCP, UDP/TCP, DNS, DHCP, IPv4/IPv6, ARP, ICMP, DVB-S2, 802.3, 4G/LTE MAC/RLC/PDCP, GTP, VxLAN
  • Knowledge of satellite communications, VoIP signaling and media protocols, QoS, bandwidth management, FCAPS, IP routing and switching, network security
It would be nice if you had:
  • Experience making contributions to Standards Definition Organizations
  • Knowledge of the ETSI MANO architecture and network function virtualization
  • Relevant technical certifications with 4G/5G and RAN virtualization technologies
  • Familiarity with the use of 3GPP standards to facilitate space-based communications
