UVA ITS ( ) is seeking a Lead ServiceNow Developer. This position will serve as the senior ServiceNow developer on the team, advancing ITSM (IT Service Management) through advanced application development. The selected applicant will have the opportunity to support critical operational services and high priority strategic projects in support of the University's mission.

Platform and Project Leadership Responsibilities- Research new platform capabilities and find alignment with business needs and security/compliance requirements
- Design end to end solutions encompassing positive and consistent user experience, alignment with ITSM and ServiceNow best practices, and scalability
- Review and supply recommendations on internal security configurations, compliance, and areas of improvement
- Lead peer code reviews to improve technical practices among other ServiceNow developers
- Facilitate successful completion of large technical projects, working individually and collaboratively to achieve project goals
- Consider and apply perspectives of various personas into solution designs
- Translate functional requirements to technical specifications, ensuring requirements are well documented
- Enhance service portal themes, UI scripts, widgets. Design improvements, new customizations, using CSS, html, AngularJS, and other programming languages
- Develop and implement advanced workflows, business rules, script includes, client scripts, service portal widgets, Flows, and other scripting solutions
- Incorporate total quality into designs, using Automated Test Framework and other available tools to spot defects in sub-production testing, and alert on defects in production environments
- Produce system design documentation for developed applications and updated solutions
- Work individually and collaboratively to deliver on-time and on-target releases
- Provide expert troubleshooting on complex issues, serving as escalation point to other platform administrators/analysts/developers
- Debug, diagnose, and administer integrations with external platforms using LDAP integrations, Integration Hub, MID Server data sources, as well as custom REST/SOAP APIs
- Work individually and collaboratively to realize improvements in regular patching and upgrade activities
- Teamwork: Collaborate with immediate team and the broader internal team at ITS. Find opportunities to make our services better by looking all the people/process/technology domains
- Detail oriented: Demonstrate focus on detail and quality, proactively preventing errors
- Intellectual and analytical curiosity: Assess and troubleshoot configurations and designs by learning the intent of the user and how the decisions may affect them, as well as the system. Evaluate needs and priorities to influence recommendations.
- Leverage effective communication skills: proactively communicate status, risks, benefits, and alternative paths while showing knowledge of material and understanding of the problem space. Demonstrate ability to communicate to a variety of audiences, from customer to management.
- High school diploma and 5 years of relevant experience, at least four of which were working specifically as a ServiceNow Developer and ServiceNow Engineer.
- Current certification for ServiceNow Certified Administrator and current certification for ServiceNow Certified Application Developer
