ECS is seeking a
Lead Software Test Engineer to work in our Arlington, VA office. Job Description: This candidate will support the Integrated Pay & Personnel System - Army (IPPS-A) Program Management Office in Crystal City, VA. The IPPS-A program is the Army's comprehensive effort to improve the way soldiers are managed throughout the force. It is the most important IT program in the Army focused on supporting the day-to-day personnel and pay needs of the soldier. The program office's mission is to provide fully integrated personnel and pay services for all Army Components (Active, National Guard, and Reserve) which streamlines Army HR, enhances the efficiency and accuracy of Army personnel, and pay procedures, and supports soldiers and their families. The Lead Software Test Engineer will be responsible for leading a team of software test engineers in the planning, preparation, and execution of tests to verify system capabilities; and documenting and reporting of the test results.- Responsible for test planning, preparation, and execution of multiple test events.
- Prepare and/or review technical documents, test plans, and templates.
- Lead the development of test plans, scripts, and scenarios and implement them with software test procedures.
- Conduct test planning meetings and Test Readiness Reviews providing technical input.
- Provide oversite of the System Integrator who is responsible for the development of the IPPS-A application.
- Lead the development of test scripts, test scenarios, and use cases.
- Write test plans and reports.
- Oversee system integrator's test team on behalf of the client; assist client with contact performance reviews.
- Develop schedules and cost estimates to support multiple test events.
- Develop queries using SQL to conduct analysis of data.
- Secret Clearance.
- 10+ years' experience in test management, including in a personnel management role.
- Experience testing ERPs.
- Demonstrated understanding of the methods, processes, and procedures to test ERP systems including the selection of techniques and methods to be used to validate the system requirement specifications.
- Experience in using HP ALM and HP Performance Center software testing tools (or equivalent systems).
- Knowledge of IT system architecture.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and be able to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills, with both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Oracle PeopleSoft test skills.
- Certified Professional Software Tester.
- Prior Military (Army) Human Resource (HR) experience .
- Demonstrated understanding of the methods, processes, and procedures to test for personnel & pay systems including the selection of techniques and methods to be used to validate the system requirement specifications.
