Tucker Pavilion,at HCA Virginia’sChippenham Hospital, has been committed to the Behavioral Health needs of our community for over 100 years. We offer a full range of inpatient, outpatient and emergency services for children, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients in our newly renovated units.

The Leader in Behavioral Health:

  • 137 Bed Psych Hospital offering of care continuum – crisis team on site, inpatient/acute care for all ages, partial hospitalization for adolescents/adults
  • Use of audiovisual technology to offer Behavioral Health Needs assessments to HCA Virginia’s Emergency Departments
  • Partnership with the community in offering a Crisis Triage Center
  • Injection of clinical pathways in programming
  • Diverse array of therapeutic offerings – yoga, 12 step support, NAMI peer support, spiritual, pet therapy, gym on site, and more
  • Quality focus with outcome measurements injected into clinical programming
  • Four Child Psychiatrists
  • Host site for Behavioral Health clinical nursing rotations

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will perform care under the direction of the unit Nursing Leadership Team and the Director. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Provides for the clinical management of the patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
  2. Possesses the knowledge and skill to provide direct care to the patient.
  3. Functions as a Team Module leader or Primary Care Provider.
  4. Promotes satisfaction of customers (patients, visitors, physicians and staff).
  5. Participates in and understands Quality Management activities.
  6. Demonstrates effective communication skills.
  7. Demonstrates understanding of hospital and departmental policy and procedures.
  8. Promotes cost effective unit operations.
  9. Documents nursing care utilizing the appropriate tools.
  10. Demonstrates an awareness of self-learning needs.
  11. Complies with professional, regulatory governmental and departmental standards

EDUCATION:

  • Required: Graduation from an accredited school of Practical Nursing
  • Preferred: Currently enrolled in a Registered Nursing program at an accredited school

LICENSURE:

  • Required: Licensedin the State of Virginia as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care

EXPERIENCE:

  • Preferred: At least 1 year of LPN experience
  • Preferred: Previous successful experience in an acute care facility

HOURS:

  • Full Time
  • 12 hour shifts
  • 72 hours every pay period (every two weeks)
  • Weekend & Holiday Rotations
