Job Title: Linux Engineer

Duration: 12 months+ Extension

No. of Hours Per Week: 40 hours

Candidate MUST be comfortable working ONSITE for the first several weeks - length of time to be determined by manager. Then candidate can work remotely up to two days each week

Responsibilities:
  • Performs day-to-day activities related to the support, research, analysis, and implementation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems
  • Considerable knowledge, experience, and understanding of working with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (Red Hat) in a VMware environment is require.

Required / Skills / Experience:
  • Experience with Linux/LVM concepts of UNIX file structure.
  • 7+ years In-depth experience with Red Hat operating systems and server provisioning
  • 7+ years Thorough understanding of configurations and experience in implementation of Red Hat
  • 7+ years Thorough knowledge of and experience with performance monitoring, system testing, OS Upgrades, and software patch Installation and testing in Red Hat
  • 7+ years of Experience with VMware / Virtualization
  • 7+ years of Experience working with and writing Shell (ex: Perl, Bash, etc.) scripts
  • 7+ years of Experience with troubleshooting Linux / Red Hat server problems
  • 7+ years of Experience with Linux/LVM file structures
  • 7+ years of Experience working in and troubleshooting medium to large-scale enterprise server environments
  • 7+ years of Ability to communicate and interact effectively with management, users, information technology personnel, and vendors, both orally, and in writing.
  • 7+ years of Experience working with users including requirements definition, conducting testing and training.
  • 5+ years of Experience with standard server networking protocols
  • 3+ years of Experience creating desk procedures and other documentation
  • 2+ years of Exposure to Web Application services (WebLogic, JBoss, Apache, etc.)
  • 4+ years of Experience with Red Hat Ansible
  • 5+ years of Experience working in Solaris environment

Education Qualification:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
