Piper Companies is seeking a
Linux System Administrator (Night Shift) to join an industry-leading Internet Security organization located in Reston, VA. The Night Shift Linux SA will cover the night shift to support mission-critical services within the organization. Responsibilities for the Linux System Administrator include :- Install, maintain, and configure production, staging and quality assurance environments to support provisioning services. Environments include servers, operating systems, storage devices, and applications software
- Perform daily operations support functions, including problem isolation and resolution
- Provide critical technical leadership in the areas of operational process and change management
- Interface with Development, QA, Performance, Project Management, Customer Service, Business, and other Operations organizations
- Document processes, procedures, configurations, and deployment plans
- Experience administering systems in a production operations environment
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or equivalent Unix OS is a must
- Proficiency with Unix utilities and scripting (Perl, Python, shell, Expect, etc)
- Willing to work Sunday to Tuesday plus every other Saturday, or Wednesday to Friday plus every other Saturday, from 10PM to 10AM
- Certified Linux SA preferred
- Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 - Hourly Pay $45 - 55/hr
