Overview

The Squires Group has a contract opportunity in Springfield, VA, for a

Junior

Linux/Windows Administrator . In this role, you will support and maintain applications, databases, and their underlying platforms on classified and unclassified cloud environments.

Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be

U.S. Citizens, with an

active Top-Secret (SCI eligible) clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, configure, backup, troubleshoot and ensure security of virtual servers and applications for unclassified and classified operations supporting Agency foundational engineering services
  • Support the integration of tools into the Agency unclassified and classified environments
  • Responsible for monitoring and providing recommendations for capacity management, system utilization, storage planning, and database performance
  • Responsible for transitioning and maintaining OpenShift, Kubernetes, and AWS environment

Qualifications

  • Master's degree (or bachelor's degree plus 2 extra years of experience)
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification
  • Working knowledge of Windows or Linux System administration, software installation and configuration, and system performance monitoring and tuning
  • Knowledge of OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Amazon Web Services, or similar cloud infrastructures
  • Support IT security activities including IAVA patches and provide/maintain documentation supporting Authorization to Test (ATT) and Authorization to Operate (ATO)
  • Develop/maintain documentation and technical specifications to IT staff
  • Support backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
  • Support troubleshooting and ensure incidents are identified and resolved in a timely manner
  • Per our Federal Government Contract, candidates must be

    U.S. Citizens, with an
