From systems architecture development to system analysis and optimization, astrodynamics, orbital debris, navigation, failure analysis, mission assurance, cost and schedule assessment, and economic market analysis, SED exploits an incredibly broad array of engineering and business disciplines against a diverse and dynamic portfolio of programs and national challenges.The Agile Systems Engineering, Planning and Analysis (ASEPA) Department concentrates on delivering acquisition and systems engineering planning expertise and products to form a sound basis for space, ground, and launch system programs acquisition lifecycle activities for the USSF, NASA, NOAA, Intelligence Community (IC) and other Agencies. What You'll Be Doing- Provide overall project management leadership on the development and sustainment of long-range strategic planning capabilities to enable timely, relevant responses to customer needs
- Balance ASEPA projects in the long-range strategic planning capability area to address varying workloads and priorities across the team
- Oversee teams of advanced or senior technical specialists to ensure products satisfy customer needs
- Act as a department senior liaison within and beyond ETG, providing proactive coordination and consultation to customers and Aerospace staff across the company related to the long-range strategic planning capabilities
- Initiate and oversee studies to solve new technical problems requiring leadership and coordination across multi-disciplinary technical leaders, Aerospace Program Office personnel, and external customers
- Lead customer engagement efforts on a range of problem framing, strategic planning, and organizational assessment activities
- Establish and maintain effective and enduring working relationships with key organizational customers
- Support workforce development through strategic planning with department and subdivision management, resource acquisition, recruiting, training, and mentoring.
- Provide guidance and strengthen long-range strategic capabilities with quality analysis and projects
- Define the framework and metrics to measure the impact of the capabilities to customer need
- Develop and present timely and technically accurate briefings and reports that clearly communicate analysis results and provide recommended solutions to technical leads, management, and customers
- Perform as an individual and team contributor on project execution and integration of technical analysis into high quality, unified products to enable innovation, mission success, and agility
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited program in engineering, management sciences, computer or information systems, STEM field, or related field
- 8 years of collective experience in project management, acquisition, systems engineering, and/or systems development
- Experience in developing or assessing space system strategic forecasts, analysis of alternatives, technology pathways, and implementation plans
- Familiarity with systems engineering disciplines
- Knowledge of systems definition, architecture-level tradeoffs, project planning, requirements definition or program review principles for space or ground systems
- Familiarity with USSF and IC acquisition policies, space systems, and advanced space technologies
- Demonstrated excellence in communications, especially presenting and writing technical information
- Demonstrated capability to be flexible, adaptable; able to manage and perform multiple simultaneous tasks in a dynamic environment
- Great interpersonal communications skills
- Ability to develop project plans, contribute to high-impact deliverables, and manage schedule commitments
- Willing to travel occasionally for work assignments
- TS/SSBI/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the US government and requires U.S citizenship
- Advanced degree from an accredited program in a relevant field
- Experience leading teams
- Experience providing acquisition risk assessments and guidance to avoid/minimize acquisition risk
- Demonstrated experience working within the Aerospace culture, especially orchestrating project among various Aerospace, customer, and contractor organizations
- Demonstrated experience with at least two of the following space mission areas: GEOINT, SIGINT, Multi-INT, Ground, Science / Weather, Space Communications, Mission Enablers
- Experience applying digital acquisition and/or digital engineering
