Description We are inviting applications for the role of a Medical Billing Specialist, located in Glen Allen, Virginia. This role is part of the healthcare industry and offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. The primary job function is to assist the collections team, offering expertise in medical collections work, medical billing, and claims.Responsibilities: Assist the collections team in their daily operations Handle medical billing tasks ensuring accuracy and timeliness Understand and manage medical claims processes Familiarize with medical collections work and provide necessary support Analyze and resolve any discrepancies in billing and claims Ensure adherence to industry regulations and standards Use your skills in medical billing, claims, and collections to maintain efficiency Communicate with other healthcare professionals to clarify diagnoses or to obtain additional information Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe. Requirements Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of Medical Billing. Have a strong understanding and hands-on experience with Medical Claims and Medical Collections. Ability to use medical software for patient data entry, billing, and tracking. Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare billing procedures, including insurance and patient billing. Familiarity with medical coding and terminology. Detail-oriented with high levels of accuracy in data entry and analysis. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, medical professionals, and insurance companies. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to health information privacy regulations. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently. Capable of multitasking and working under pressure to meet billing deadlines. Proficient in using computer systems and software such as Microsoft Office Suite for administrative tasks.
