DescriptionThe Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) organization is responsible for creating the spaces that inspire Amazonians to make history. The globally diverse team manages Amazon’s corporate offices in more than 60 countries. GREF provides real estate transactions expertise, business partnering, space and occupancy planning, design and construction, capital investment program management, facility maintenance, and operations all contributing to the employee experience and leveraging places and programs to enable culture to thrive at Amazon.GREF’s Continuous Improvement team sits within the Operations Excellence team and is responsible for developing and maintaining GREF-wide operational standards, knowledge management, and Continuous Improvement support; including program playbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, best practice guidelines, self-managed skill-development tools, workshops, and coaching resource libraries. The team encompasses a variety of skill-sets; including technical, project, and program managers that enable GREF service lines to drive continuous improvement across the organization.As the Manager of GREF Continuous Improvement you will develop and manage operational documentation, Continuous Improvement, and governance mechanisms. You will oversee a large, global team of third-party specialists. You will build strong relationships with service line leaders across GREF, and help them drive operational consistency, improvements, and scalability by translating strategic objectives into feasible action plans. The successful candidate will have excellent program & project management capabilities, a thorough understanding of the office workplace environment and corporate real estate, and display traits such as quick learning, flexibility, and agility.Key job responsibilities

Act as a thought leader on operational improvement opportunities and best practices

Provide project management and oversight to global cross-functional teams, from scoping initiatives to successful implementation of standards with internal and external stakeholders.

Lead third-party vendor team to adapt to key organizational priorities as needs shift; maintain appropriate staffing levels and motivate the team to achieve organizational goals.

Build partnerships with leadership, peers and partner organizations to support key organizational goals, including definition of policies and procedures

Drive strong governance over program documentation, metrics, policies to ensure alignment with best practices

Develop robust and scalable documentation, mechanisms, reporting, and playbooks; support organizational teams in maturing and maintain.

Provide and global analytics, reporting and dashboards to mitigate risks and ensure organization-wide alignment to operational best practices

Delegate and partner with vendor resources and other stakeholders for improvement initiatives to succeed and work with the relevant stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach.

Identify improvement opportunities and develop global solutions to address them

Exceptional oral and written communication skills

Strategize with stakeholders, challenge outcomes and propose deliverables to ensure fit for purpose and scalable solutions.

Identify and apply lessons learned from initiatives to drive Continuous Improvement in the organization.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

5+ years of experience in program or project management

5+ years of experience managing teams

5+ years of experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

5+ years of experience in leading Continuous Improvement initiatives and implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or other Continuous Improvement methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

Proven experience delivering operational improvements on a global scale

Expertise in defining program requirements and using data/metrics to identify improvement opportunities

Proficient in managing global and regional operational governance mechanisms and documentation, preferably in real estate/facilities projects and operations

Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional and vendor teams

Ability to effectively manage cross-functional teams, dependencies, and bottlenecks, providing escalation management and balancing business needs with constraints

Comfortable working across multiple geographies, cultures, and time zones in a dynamic organization

Strong communication skills, including moderating large forums and driving consensus among senior stakeholders

Proficient in narrative writing

Proven track record of building effective relationships with diverse stakeholders at all organizational levels

Tech-savvy with the ability to adopt new tools and provide guidance on improving existing technologies

Experience in developing and implementing knowledge management programs, including best practices and cross-organizational knowledge sharing

Strong analytical capabilities

Expertise in driving change management plans for new policies, procedures, or processes

Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies, such as Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

Understanding of continuous improvement tools and techniques, including value stream mapping, 5S, kaizen, root cause analysis, PDCA, and data analysis.

The base pay for this position ranges from $113,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $183,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
