Role Summary:
  • Responsible for developing NAR specific technical requirements in conjunction with various functions in the market and following established approval processes, ensures that EV platforms of the future are addressing NAR market requirements with regards to customer needs, financial targets and timing requirements
  • Ownership of the Battery Cycle-plan and manage the relationship with PowerCo, to ensure that the battery Cycle-plan can deliver on VWGoA needs to have competitive batteries which meets customer needs, financial targets and timing requirements, along with local content requirements
  • Lead the liaison process between NAR and CARIAD - providing CARIAD with NAR market requirements and delivering a comprehensive Cycle-plan that shows the updates cycles that VWGoA products will receive to maintain competitiveness and freshness of its products

Role Responsibilities:

Platforms (40% of time)
  • Represent NAR in the development and enhancement of all EV platform relevant projects
  • Work with AG counterparts in identify further technical measures supporting platform initiative
  • Lead strategy for electrical platforms to expand the electrical VW product offer into all relevant segment
  • Ensure all platform KPIs are tracked and develop action plans for improvements
  • Represent NAR & VW Group in all relevant discussions and committees in NAR and Wolfsburg
Battery & Motor Strategy (30% of time)
  • Responsible for managing the relationship with Power Co, to ensure all NAR related priorities are communicated. Keep NAR management informed on all Battery development and manufacturing related topics. Owner of the NAR Battery & EV motorcycle Plan
  • Support development of VW group electrified powertrain strategy for USA with a focus on introducing new cell chemistries into the lineup and representing NAR requirement in the Early project phase
  • Lead the process to develop U.S EV powertrain requirements including technical, price, and volume
  • Represent US market preference in Wolfsburg for powertrain related topics/discussions
  • Monitor customer trends related to EVs through syndicated and independent research
  • Monitor competitor Battery and EV motor strategies and keep WOB informed on any unique local news
  • Decide and implement lifecycle measures for all EV powertrains
Software (30% of time)
  • Responsible for managing the relationship with CARIAD to ensure all NAR related priorities are communicated. Keep NAR management informed on all Software related development topics. Owner of the NAR Software Cycle Plan - including E 3 rollout and OTA plans
  • Lead the process to develop U.S market requirements for ADAS (Autonomous Driving) including technical, price, and volume
  • Represent US market preference in Wolfsburg for ADAS related topics
  • Monitor customer trends related to ADAS through syndicated and independent research
  • Monitor competitor ADAS strategies and keep WOB informed on any unique local news

Qualifications:

Years of Experience:
  • 10+ years automotive industry experience or strategy consulting experience
  • Prior professional automotive-related experience involved with electric vehicles, product strategy; product/brand management; product development, platform management, engines and module management
  • Technical automotive knowledge a must

Education - Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree

Education - Desired:
  • Master's Degree

Specialized Skills -

Required:
  • Expert level knowledge of automotive technologies, especially pertaining to EV technology (Battery, Platform, etc.) and Software implementation (Architecture, ADAS, etc.)
  • Prior professional automotive related experience involved with product management
  • Excellent strategic thinking, negotiation and communication skills
  • Marketing, Product Planning or field related sales experience desirable
  • Project Management systems experience desirable
  • Knowledge of automotive industry: retail operations, industry trends & Competitive environment
  • High quality and expedient delivery of work (attention to detail)
  • Communicator experienced in the diverse cultures of a global company including; factories, corporate, field & dealerships
  • Fluent English language skills
  • Initiated and led collaborative projects
  • Demonstrated capabilities in presentation skills
  • Ability to generate high quality reports and presentations

Specialized Skills - Desired:
  • Knowledge and work experience with VW AG
  • Professional German language skill
  • Experience with the decision-making structure of VW AG/Group in Wolfsburg

Work Flexibility:
  • Up to 25% of time spend on travelling - domestic and international
