You will be responsible for the planning, implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of SQL Server databases in an Azure environment. US Citizenship Required: YesClearance: Public TrustKey Responsibilities:Migration Planning: Collaborate with the migration team to develop a comprehensive migration strategy, assess database readiness, and plan for a seamless transition to Azure. Database Configuration and Deployment: Configure and deploy SQL Server databases in Azure, including setting up appropriate service tiers, storage, and security measures. Data Migration: Lead or assist in migrating on-premises SQL databases to Azure, ensuring data consistency, integrity, and minimal downtime during the migration process. Performance Optimization: Monitor and tune Azure SQL databases to maintain optimal performance, identifying and addressing bottlenecks or issues as they arise. Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain database security measures in accordance with industry best practices and compliance requirements. Ensure data encryption, access controls, and auditing are in place. Backup and Disaster Recovery: Establish and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions for Azure SQL databases to ensure data availability and resilience. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve database-related issues, including performance problems, errors, and connectivity issues. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures related to Azure SQL databases. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, infrastructure teams, and project managers, to ensure a smooth migration process and ongoing database support. Continuous Learning: Stay current with industry trends, new Azure features, and best practices in database administration to drive innovation and efficiency.Qualifications:

Proven experience as a SQL Database Administrator with expertise in SQL Server, including versions 2019 and later.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, specifically Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Azure Virtual Machines.

Experience with database migration tools and techniques, including Azure Database Migration Service.

Proficiency in T-SQL scripting for automation and troubleshooting.

Familiarity with database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.

Understanding of database security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, DISA)

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Database Administrator) are a plus.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Desired Certifications:

Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect are a plus.)
