NCAPS Data Scientist IIJob Category: ScienceTime Type: Part timeMinimum Clearance Required to Start: Public TrustEmployee Type: RegularPercentage of Travel Required: Up to 10%Type of Travel: Continental USThe Opportunity:CACI’s Agile Digital Solutions Group is seeking a mid-level Data Scientist who will be a part of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Consolidated Applications and Platform Services (NCAPS) team. NCAPS is a consolidation of current applications to standardize NASA’s IT systems and applications to include general IT, customer support, information management, mission support systems. Bring your expertise to this Agile CI/CD team to safeguard NASA’s Enterprise.Responsibilities:

Develops statistical models and machine learning algorithms that help to drive business decisions, including classification, regression, and time series models.

Ensure the use of rigorous quantitative methodologies to reach accurate and reliable results.

Collects and analyzes statistics and information from multiple sources to spot trends and to gain maximum insight and communicates informed conclusions and recommendations.

Supports development and implementation of algorithms and predictive models to extract insights from data and improve decision-making processes.

Writes detailed specifications for analysis files, programs, accuracy checks.

Collect and analyze large, complex data sets using a variety of tools and techniques, including statistical analysis, data mining, machine learning, and predictive modeling.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, product managers, and other data scientists, to identify business needs and opportunities and develop data-driven solutions.

Collaborates with the project team to develop, refine, and scale data management and analytics procedures, systems, workflows, best practices, and other issues.

Qualifications:Required:

Bachelors’ degree (will consider experience in lieu of degree)

5 or more years of experience as a software engineer

Must be willing and able to obtain a NASA Public Trust Clearance (US Citizenship required)

Ability to construct complex SQL queries for gathering, synthesizing, and preparing data.

Experience with version control and Git workflows.

Experience using business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Tableau and PowerBI

Deep understanding of the statistical principles and the concepts underlying machine learning techniques.

Track record of getting data science models into production and demonstrating impact on business results.

Desired:

Prior experience with any of the following:

NASA platform applications

NASA custom applications

NASA systems engineering/database development

SAFe certification

Other related data analysis or BI tool certifications
