Location: Triangle, VA Salary: Negotiable Description: Network EngineerMy client is looking to bring on a new Network Engineer with an Active Top Secret clearance (with the ability to be eligible for a TS/SCI clearance) to provide help and assistance with all threat status and warnings associated with terrorist, criminal, cyber, and counterintelligence activity throughout the world. The position is for various shift work options during the periods 5:30PM - 6:30AM EST with weekends and holidays off.
This job will have the following responsibilities:- Tests and analyzes all elements of network facilities
- Monitors and controls the performance and status of network resources on multiple enclaves utilizing software and hardware tools
- Identifies and diagnoses problems and factors affecting network performance
- Analyzes network performance, usage, traffic flows, access, and interfaces
- Provides technical planning and analysis for communication activities including designing, integrating, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, testing, monitoring, reporting, documenting, working with appropriate vendors, and performing preventative maintenance services
- Performs testing, provisioning, operations and emergency response for ongoing network operations
- Oversees and managers the deployment of upgrades to existing data, video, and related systems in a multi-location environment
- Ensures all required operational and support documents are current
- Maintains a current understanding of emerging technologies and trends in online media, cloud service, storage solutions, and other data center technologies
- MUST have an active Top Secret clearance and be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI
- Bachelor's Degree in a relatable field of study OR over 12+ years of experience
- 7 years of networking experience; 3 years of specialized networking experience
- MUST have at least 1 DOD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (CompTIA Security+ preferred)
- Must have Cisco and Juniper experience
- Well versed in configuring and managing Cisco, Palo Alto, Forcepoint, Sidewinder, and/or Juniper brand fire walls.
- Prior experience working with Nexus style Data Centers (2K, 5K, 7K, or 9K)
