Job Summary Surry Power Station Engineering is currently seeking a Summer 2023 Electrical Engineering intern at Surry Power Station in Surry, VA. This intern will be located in the Design Engineering department. The intern will be working design expertise, ownership, and maintenance of complex Electrical and I&C models and calculations that support the accident analyses and design basis for the fleet. Under direction of supervisor or work leader, interns will: Support design change packages to provide for engineered plant improvements and solutions to operations and maintenance problems including limited Electrical Systems Analysis Checklist (ESAC) reviews. Prepare specifications for the procurement of new or replacement electrical equipment and interface with vendors to resolve technical matters. Provide scoping support for requests for engineering assistance (REA). Provide technical support for design-related issues in construction, maintenance, and operations Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience- We are seeking a motivated candidate with solid engineering skills (commensurate with grade level) who has an inquisitive nature and strong professional ethics.
- The ideal candidate will also possess good communication, technical writing, and computer skills.
- Individuals must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree inEngineering from an ABET accredited program at a four-year college or university. (Electrical or I&C preferred)
- Individuals must have an anticipated graduation date in December 2024 or 2025.
- We are seeking a motivated candidate with solid engineering skills (commensurate with grade level) who has an inquisitive nature and strong professional ethics.
- The ideal candidate will also possess good communication, technical writing, and computer skills.
- Individuals must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree inEngineering from an ABET accredited program at a four-year college or university. (Electrical or I&C preferred)
- Individuals must have an anticipated graduation date in December 2024 or 2025.
- Individuals must have a 2.5 minimum GPA.
- Individuals with a 3.0 or greater are preferred
