Maxar has immediate opportunities for a Software Development Engineer to join a team building innovative software for users in environmental, space, defense and intelligence communities. Project: We're supporting a well-established DoD customer that works on a critical and high-visibility missions designing, developing, and fielding cutting-edge sensor technologies. Our team is tremendously talented, and we need to add a full-time Software Development Engineer with a strong foundation in modeling and simulation to work on the growing number of requirements. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes engineers, scientists, mathematicians, and software developers. You will work with your teammates on tasks such as:- Develop new software from algorithm definitions and prototypes
- Work with program teams to plan future operations.
- Practice and improve on agile development methodologies and tools
- Work in a collaborative environment to support the sensor system design and fielding
- Work with a multi-disciplinary team to compile complex products to inform leadership on technical risks and chances for success of projects.
- Brief customer project, program and senior leadership, as well as mission partners on modeling efforts, results, conclusions and recommendations.
- Must have current/active TS/SCI security clearance and be willing and able to obtain CI Polygraph
- Master's degree in engineering, sciences, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related technology field. Three additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- 10 years of relevant experience in your field of expertise
- Ability and willingness to work on-site at customer location in Northern Virginia
- Experience supporting the development of associated sensors systems which acquire TECHINT data
- Monitor the technology and transition efforts of TECHINT-related sensors and systems in design by DoD and the Intelligence Community
- Strong programming skills in C, Python, Java, etc.
- Experience with Digital Signal Processing, Image Processing, Matlab, AWS, RESTful APIs, RESTful Web Services, Orchestration and Containerization (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker).
- Advanced education in Math, Physics.
- Knowledge in Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), Electro-Optical (EO), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geospatial Data.
- Experience with ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine, STK, SIMDIS, Global Mapper, ENVI, QT Modeler and/or SocetGXP.
