AECOM is seeking an experienced Plumbing / Mechanical Engineer to be based in our Roanoke, VA office.  As a member of our team of specialized plumbing engineers, you will be responsible for the design and integration of water, sanitary, storm, medical gas, fuel oil, and sustainable plumbing systems. Our group is focused on automation and continuous process improvement, utilizing advanced industry standard tools.  Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:Collaborate on complex engineering projects, performing detailed design tasks for water distribution, sanitary and stormwater management, medical gas systems, and fuel oil infrastructureDevelop innovative and sustainable water solutions, incorporating automation to improve efficiency and accuracy in design processesLeverage software such as Revit, Plant 3D, and Dynamo for advanced modeling and design automationPropose and implement modifications to standard engineering procedures to solve unique design challengesProvide plumbing designs in accordance with local codes and criteria as well as federal DOD (UFC) criteriaIdentify and resolve discrepancies in project data or design resultsGuide and mentor entry-level engineers, fostering a collaborative and learning-focused environmentManage project tasks and deliverables in accordance with agreed-upon budgets and schedules with minimal supervisionUtilize industry trends and innovations in plumbing systems and automation to design systems for a variety of clientsAECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture.  With a range of expertise from strategy and design through project realization, we create better outcomes to grow economies, protect natural systems, conserve natural resources, and connect and engage people through innovative, sustainable design solutions.  Our teams have worked on signature projects such as the London 2012 Olympic Park and Legacy Framework, to the new plan for the LA2028 Olympics, to industrial facilities for GE and Rolls-Royce, to headquarters and workplaces for NASA, Unilever, Sony Music, DirecTV, Box, Inc., and many Fortune 500 companies.
