Candidates will perform data manipulation and cleansing to prepare datasets for visualization. Assisting in the delivery of quality solutions using Microsoft Business Intelligence tools (Power BI) and related technologies. You’ll partner with OIG customers and OCIO technical team members to assist with requirements definitions, solution designs, technical architecture, and delivery.HOW A POWER BI CONSULTANT WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Implementing solutions using Microsoft Power BI tool suite and related technologies
Leveraging database systems including data warehouses, data marts, and models needed for business, financial, and operational analysis and/or reporting
Developing high performing, reliable, and scalable solutions
Clearly communicating technical details to business and management staff
Performing data analysis which supports and enhances OIG information management systems and services
Authoring and overseeing design documents for approved projects
Developing reports, dashboards & scorecards, data exploration, and visual analytics using existing and emerging technologies and tools
Providing meaningful feedback and coaching of other team members in the use of Microsoft Power BI and related technologies
Providing insight and recommendations on new and emerging technologies and concepts to OCIO team members
Experienced with features of the Power BI Service and Power BI Premium including establishing gateway refresh schedules and row level security.
Experienced with other Power Platform tools including Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, etc. and integrating them with Power BI solutions.
Capable of providing technical expertise in the diagnosis and resolution of issues and service desk tickets.
Capable of creating datasets and data flows for self-service reporting.
Capable of maintaining, updating, and performance tuning existing BI reports.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:Education :
BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field (preferred, but not required)
Required Experience :
4-7 years of progressive experience in business intelligence and/or information management
2+ years of experience with data visualization and implementing high-value solutions; experience performing administrative activities across multi-environment infrastructures
2+ years of experience working in a client-facing technical role
Required Technical Skills :
Proficient in the use of Data Analytics Expressions (DAX) and Power Query
Experience with one or more data technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Data Warehouse, SQL Server, etc.) and a willingness to learn how to leverage these technologies to improve business intelligence
Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: SQL, SAS, R, or Python
Expert knowledge of data management, business intelligence and analytics concepts including:
Extract, transform, load (ETL)
Data warehousing, data marts, data stores, and cubes
Data quality and profiling
Data governance, data management, and metadata management
Data visualization, dashboard design / implementation, reporting, self-service BI, data KPIs, and scorecards
Predictive, prescriptive, and descriptive analytics
Required Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of the following to facilitate the development of custom visuals:
Dashboards TypeScript development tools
D3 JavaScript libraries
Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG)
Security Clearance Level :
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.
