Your role in helping us shape the future: Join the innovation team responsible for defining the requirements of the Next Generation Software Defined Network (NG-SDN). You will be supporting Intelsat's Next Generation Satellite Transmission Engineering and leading the requirements definition and management of the core satellite performance database of Intelsat fleet and ground ecosystem. You will be working with a team of professionals in cross-matrix projects and interacting with multiple departments.

Are you up to the challenge? You will collaborate within the Innovation organization in the design and implementation of the NG-SDN, modeling the satellite's performance database for the payload and ground subsystems as part of the integrated NG-SDN ecosystem.
  • You will maintain satellite performance databases used in LBA tools and support ongoing program technical data analysis/database.
  • You will support the transmission engineering analysis tools development for Intelsat satellites and address users inquires related to all measured data.
  • You will analyze, process and characterize measured payload for satellites under construction (including antenna gain files, amplifiers modeling filters, (IMUXs, OMUXs) and incorporate in the centralized data base.
  • You will update the technical data for Satellite/Beam Re-deployment and update the database based on the Satellite Payload Reconfiguration Memo
  • You will coordinate the obtention of technical data with Satellite Program Office, the satellite manufacturer and with Satellite Engineering after IOT.
  • You will verify the accuracy and validity of the performance technical data received from the satellite manufacturers and the modem, platform, terminal and ground antenna Vendors and incorporate the data in the transmission tools and build the transponder configuration model.
  • You will be responsible for generating customer-facing and internal coverage maps for the whole fleet both current and future deployment including customized maps for ITU and FCC filing as well as for CSE/CM, Sales and Marketing, Business Development
  • You will be responsible for generating Technical User Guide for the Intelsat fleet
  • You will be the product manager for the antenna contours software and its potential replacement. You will collect requirements from User, prepare specifications and provide them to IT for implementation, test enhancements, and provide user training.
  • You will be responsible for the data modeling, and support report generation and problem-solving for the tool generating the technical appendices defining satellite performance parameters for Intelsat's contract. (TechAppB)
  • You will coordinate with database teams of other Intelsat tools such as APS, SRS and working closely with Intelsat IT development team.

You should definitely have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or Electrical Engineering with minimum 5 years of experience in satellite transmission engineering and/or database systems.
  • Expert knowledge of database systems and ability to develop associated software procedures and scripts.
  • Good Knowledge of software engineering and programming skills, including the following:
    • Data processing experience on MS Excel spreadsheet and programming in VBA
    • Oracle database and SQL commands
    • Programming in C, C#, Java, Python
    • Microsoft Access
    • MATLAB simulation and modeling
    • Effective command of the English language both written and oral
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Excel, Access, Word and Outlook)
  • Ability to work collaboratively within the team and across the organization
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to handle project independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skill- both written and verbal as well as strong presentation skills
  • This role is subject to ITAR/EAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes , Permanent Resident or Protected Individual such as an asylee or refugee).

It would be nice if you had:
  • Knowledge of the satellite payload and link budget analysis parameters.
  • Knowledge of the Intelsat Fleet
