Location: The 1752 Estate (Keysville, VA) AND Private Residence (Richmond, VA)

Position Summary:

We are seeking caring and capable Cook to join our household team. This role’s primary responsibility is cooking for and supporting the well-being of the estate’s owners—a husband and wife—at both their primary residence in Keysville, and their secondary residence in Richmond, with occasional service for invited guests. One of the primaries is recovering from a recent stroke and requires extra attention and thoughtful care.

This is a meaningful, multifaceted position well suited for someone who finds reward in personalized service, culinary excellence, and supporting the daily health and comfort of others in private, peaceful settings.

Primary Focus:

The role centers on providing and serving meals and daily support for the couple, helping maintain a calm, nourishing household at both locations.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and prepare lunch, snack, and dinner for the two primary residents

Prepare next-day breakfast items in advance each evening

Shop for groceries and kitchen supplies; keep pantry and refrigerators fully stocked

Serve meals with care and professionalism

Clean and organize kitchen areas after each meal

Prepare occasional meals and snacks for guests

Design and place floral arrangements for tables, sideboards, and gathering spaces

Maintain the organic vegetable gardens

Incorporate homegrown produce into meal planning whenever possible

Driver primaries to appointments, go shopping, run errands

Help create and maintain a calm, structured, and healthy environment at both homes

Preferred Skills:

Excellent Cook

Strong computer and technical skills are highly valued

Ability to use grocery list or recipe apps, schedule coordination tools, email, and household systems

Comfort with smart home technology and digital communication platforms

Ability to juggle multiple tasks

Applicants with technical capabilities will rise to the top of the candidate list

Qualifications:

Experience in private household service, restaurant, hotel kitchens, or experience cooking for family

Ability to work independently across two residences, maintaining organization and consistency

Good Driver's record

Professional demeanor, emotional maturity, and a caring disposition
