The Infrastructure Platforms & Tools team strives to create a next generation technology platform that fosters a seamless and positive data experience across Northrop Grumman's transformative digital thread.

The Agile Product Owner will represent the voice of customers as part of an agile team. The team is focused on the architecture, design, and implementation of data fabric technologies. The selected candidate will collaborate with customers to define the work so that the integrated team can review, commit, and execute within a defined period. The incumbent will prioritize key areas of work during a program increment, ensures that the software development team understands the intent and requirements of feature and user story definitions, and that the team is aligned on all acceptance criteria. Represents customer interests and continuously dictates team backlog priorities.

Roles and Responsibilities include:
  • Engage with stakeholders to establish vision and requirements
  • Provide direction to the team and ensure they have an adequate amount of work prepared
  • Plan and prioritize the backlog for the product
  • Participate in all team ceremonies
    • Iteration Planning
    • Iteration Demo
    • Iteration Retrospective
  • Understand enabler work
  • Preparation and Participation in Program Increment (PI) Planning
    • Program Backlog Refinement and prep
    • Reviews and contributes to the program vision
    • User Story definition, providing clarifications
  • Create and maintain a product backlog according to business value
  • Regularly communicate with stakeholders
  • Accept the work that the team delivers
  • Researches and analyzes market, users, and third-parties to help define the roadmap for the product
Basic Qualifications:
  • 9+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; 7+ Years with Masters
  • Exceptional communication and meeting facilitation skills, both in-person and virtual
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Experience working with stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify and refine requirements
  • Team-player with a strong work ethic and ability to proactively execute
  • Must have experience in communicating with various levels of leadership
  • Must be a US Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and teams
  • Agile framework experience; working as a part of an Agile Development (Scrum) Team
  • Experience using agile management tools (Jira, Confluence, etc)
  • Experience with any of the following: scrum project management, and agile software development
  • Experience with traditional project management skills: managing budget, schedule, developing estimates, etc
  • Technical experience (systems engineering, software engineering, etc)
  • Track record of training and transformation programs or organizations with sustained agility

Salary Range: $114,300 USD - $188,600 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
