Overview

Credence Management Solutions, a federal government contracting firm, is seeking IT professionals to join its growing Organization to support a key client - the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). Credence is located in Vienna, VA and provides world-wide support to federal agencies. The DLA work will be performed in the Washington D.C. area, primarily at the Credence HQ in Vienna, VA.

DLA has an operational mission of receiving, editing, validating, routing, and delivering logistics transactions for the DOD Components and Participating Agencies; providing value-added services for the numerous logistics transactions, such as network and data interoperability, activity, component, DOD-level logistics information services; and report generation. DAAS serves as the DOD translator that allows the DOD Component supply systems to speak the same language by receiving data, often non-standard, editing and validating the transactions; and forwarding the transactions, in the correct format, to the proper destination.

The scope of this effort involves planning, requirements analysis, installation, configuration, integration, testing, deployment and sustainment of an API Gateway solution for DAAS.

Responsibilities

  • With minimal direction, provides support, analysis and research into exceptionally complex problems, and processes relating to the subject matter.
  • Serves as technical expert on executive-level project teams providing technical direction, interpretation and alternatives.
  • Thinks independently and demonstrates exceptional written and oral communications skills.
  • Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
  • Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role.
  • Develops technical solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. Work is performed without appreciable direction.
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.
  • Expertise is in a particular area of Information Technology (e.g., Information Systems Architecture, Architecture, Implementation, Information Systems Integration, Software Development Methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Active Secret Clearance or US Citizenship with ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Minimum Qualifications: 10 years of experience in a relevant field, specifically EDI/XML electronic data exchange experience (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems/Technology), and a specific logistics function (e.g., finance, supply, contract administration, transportation, operations research).
  • Require first-hand knowledge of the following:
    • DoD/Component policies, business procedures, business rules, data standards and transaction standards (both DLMS and legacy formats) in support of Military Standard Requisitioning and Issue Procedures (MILSTRIP), Military Standard Transaction Reporting and Accountability Procedures (MILSTRAP), Military Standard Billing System (MILSBILLS), Supply Discrepancy Reporting (SDR) and Web SDR, DoD Activity Address Directory (DoDAAD)/Military Assistance Program Address Directory (MAPAD), Logistics Metrics Analysis Reporting System (LMARS), Physical Inventory and transaction standards in support of seamless integration with the supply/logistics domain
    • DLA Distribution Depot operations, procedures, and supporting automated information systems (e.g., Distribution Standard System)
    • DLA Materiel Management operations, procedures, and supporting automated information systems (e.g., Enterprise Business System)
