Data Systems Analysts, Inc. is searching for a Proposal Writer responsible for the development of accurate, compelling messaging and high quality content for proposals. The successful candidate will exhibit strong writing skills to ensure consistency and clarity to meet customer requests for proposals. This position is an opportunity for those gifted with the ability to craft an interesting story while adhering to strict deadlines and compliance standards for multiple projects. Must be familiar with working consultants, operational leads and other members of a proposal team. Ideal candidate must have demonstrated success working in a proposal environment as well as familiarity with technical requests for proposal. The selection and interview process will include a writing sample and interview with our Hiring Team. Responsibilities include:

  • Creating templates (RFI, technical volume, past performance)
  • Writing draft content and/or editing proposal content drafted by other contributors, including technical sections, management and staffing sections, resumes, past performance, and executive summaries.
  • Editing completed sections of proposal documents for accuracy, grammar, and formatting.
  • Synthesizing raw content from various sources into a cohesive and comprehensive passage
  • Interviewing experts, technical SMES's and drafting white papers
  • Drafting press releases
Required Skills:A minimum of 3 years of experience as a writer, preferably on technical proposals for the Government and DOD.Expert proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePointStrong analytical skills and ability to understand and write about complex and technical topicsStrong attention to detail, including grammar, punctuation, and syntaxMust be flexible, highly motivated, and able to clearly and concisely write proposal sections to convey knowledge of the client's mission and business objectives and how our solution meets or exceeds requirementsAble to effectively interview provided subject matter experts to obtain the information needed for each sectionHighly organized, team-oriented, enthusiastic, independent thinker, and collaborativeMust possess excellent reading comprehension, writing, spelling, communication, and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to manage time and deliverables under tight deadlinesMust have excellent written and verbal communication, editing, punctuation, syntax, and appropriate tone for active voiceAble to write in explanatory and procedural styles for technical and non-technical audiencesAble to coordinate with IT Subject Matter Experts, consultants, and others business executives providing technical content for proposal opportunities to ensure timely completion of documentation and compliance requirements.Analyze RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and Task Order proposal requirementsStrong analytical skills and ability to understand and write about complex and technical topicsMust be flexible, highly motivated, and able to clearly and concisely write proposal sections to convey knowledge of the client's mission and business objectives and how our solution meets or exceeds requirementsHighly organized, team-oriented, enthusiastic, independent thinker, and strong attention to detailAbility to work in a dynamic, fast-paced team environmentMust possess excellent reading comprehension, writing, communication, and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to manage time and deliverables under tight deadlines.Expert proficiency in Microsoft WordAdditional desired skillsFamiliarity working with Teams and SharePointFamiliarity with software development lifecycles (SDLCs), including DevOps, Agile, and WaterfallRequired/Desired Education & Certifications:Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or Technical discipline required.Shipley Certification and/or Association for Proposal Management Professional (APMP) Certification PREFERRED.The ability to work as needed and adhere to strict deadlines of active proposals.Founded in 1963, Data Systems Analysts, Inc.
