Obtains radiographs with stationary radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.

Obtains radiographs with the portable units as deemed necessary on the floors and operating room as well as within the radiology department.

Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.

Prepares equipment and supplies.

Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).

Assures appropriate orders are obtained and followed during the performance of all procedures.

Verifies patient identification before performing any procedure.

Minimum Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Senior in a Program in Radiologic Technology required.

Required Skills:

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including week-ends and holidays to ensure continuity of care and appropriateness of imaging coverage to the patients of Sovah Health - Martinsville.

Required Certifications/Licenses:

Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA) required.

Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Minimum Work Experience:

Current clinical experience in a Radiologic Technology program.
