Job Title: Radiation EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Radiation Effects & Survivability (RES) Engineer to lead the RES design, development, and analysis of complex electronic products for space systems. As an RES Engineer, you will assess the impact of the radiation environment on the operational capabilities of components, assemblies, equipment, subsystems, systems, and other space platforms.Responsibilities

Conduct radiation analysis for satellite payload systems.

Develop test plans and reports for radiation testing of electronic components, including total dose, prompt dose, and single event upset.

Perform radiation predictions using tools such as NOVICE, SPENVIS, CREME96, and OMERE.

Analyze the effects of radiation on material degradation.

Evaluate Single Event Effects, Burnouts, Latchups, Upsets, and Transients in electronic circuits.

Propose circuit design mitigations to reduce or eliminate the risk of Single Event Effects failure.

Conduct Total Ionizing Dose analysis.

Assess Displacement Damage Dose impact on optoelectronics.

Analyze Deep Charging (Internal Electron Flux) effects on spacecraft component boxes and external harnesses.

Perform spacecraft radiation shielding and modeling.

EMI testing

EMC

CAD modeling

Experience with Creo Parametric

Strong knowledge of physics, especially related to radiation effects in semiconductor devices

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or a closely related technical discipline with 12 years of experience.

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or a closely related technical discipline is preferred.

Extensive RES design and analysis experience

Work EnvironmentThis role offers the opportunity to impact multiple space programs and missions, including projects like HALO, which aims to send astronauts to the moon and Mars. The work environment includes cutting-edge technology and tools essential for space systems engineering. This position requires a high level of security clearance and involves working on highly classified projects.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90.00 - $115.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
